Job Summary: The VP of Finance will report directly to the CFO to lead all financial departments. These departments will include administering policies on finance, accounting, insurance, systems, internal controls, and auditing. The VP of Finance will be supported by separate teams over each financial unit.


Travel required: less than 25%


Responsibilities


Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for the preparation and submission of the monthly financial reporting package, detailed management discussion and analysis, and financial covenant compliance certificates
  • Partner with executive leadership throughout the organization to ensure strategic financial objectives are achieved
  • Analyze operations to identify areas in need of refocus and/or reorganization, and continuously develop enhancements to FP&A systems and processes
  • Direct the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, statements of cash flow, and other related schedules
  • Responsible for accurate and timely tax reporting and filings
  • Oversees the preparation, delivery, and evaluation of the bi‐weekly 13‐week cash forecast
  • Responsible for advising executive team concerning compliance matters related to applicable financial regulatory requirements
  • Oversee the general accounting team, integration finance and reporting team, accounts payable team, and internal/external audit functions
  • Directly manage all financial departments, including day‐to‐day activities, professional development, and preparation of performance evaluations to ensure the organization embraces a positive, highperforming team‐orientated culture focused on continuous improvement and professional growth and development
  • Coordinate with medical and operational leadership to establish processes and priorities for the hospital financial planning process
  • Maintain MVP’s master financial model including both short‐range and long‐range forecasts, capital structure modeling, and growth projections
  • Continuously develop enhancements to finance systems and processes. Assist with other process development and change projects throughout the company.
  • Responsible for preparing and delivering presentations to key stakeholders including the Board, lenders, and investors
  • Sign disbursements checks, coordinate approval of weekly check runs, approve emergency check requests, review, and approve various ACH and wire transfers.
  • Financial Oversight & Compliance –
  • Partner with the facilities team to evaluate capital improvement projects, assess return on investment, and advise senior leadership via written memos
  • Compare sales and profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses; make or oversee any necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets
  • Ensure that financial data used for reporting is accurate and consistent throughout the organization via each of MVP’s software systems
  • Maintain and uphold the Core Values and Mission Statement of MVP. Leadership & Relationship Management –

  • Provide shareholder reports and respond to requests for information from shareholders, tax authorities, and other external parties
  • Establish and monitor forward‐looking metrics to help drive the business

Qualifications


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


The knowledge, skills, and abilities which are required to be able to perform the Essential Functions of this position.


  • Ability to work in autonomous, fast‐moving environment
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills; Expert in Excel modeling skills
  • Ability to understand and analyze financial statements
  • Ability to analyze and problem solve strategically
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an outgoing and highly motivated personality


Required Education and Experience:


The education level and amount of experience which are required to be able to perform the Essential Functions. This should include any required certifications and licenses.


  • BA/BS degree from a four‐year college or university with a concentration in either Finance, Accounting, or Economics
  • Ten or more years in a finance leadership role


Preferred Education and Experience:


The education level and amount of experience which are preferred and “nice to haves” but are not necessarily required to be able to perform the Essential Functions. Includes any preferred certifications and licenses.


  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation
  • Masters in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance
