Job Description

Job Title: VP of Engineering - Green Ammonia Developer

Location: Kansas City



: As the Vice President of Engineering, you will play a critical role in overseeing all engineering activities associated with the development and implementation of our green ammonia projects. Leveraging your expertise in process engineering and petrochemical projects, you will provide strategic leadership and technical direction to our engineering team, driving innovation, efficiency, and excellence.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Engineering Strategy: Develop and implement the engineering strategy aligned with the company's vision, goals, and market trends, ensuring a competitive advantage in green ammonia production.

2. Technical Leadership: Provide guidance and expertise in process engineering and petrochemical projects, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation throughout the engineering department.

3. Project Management: Oversee the execution of multiple green ammonia projects, ensuring adherence to project milestones, budgets, and quality standards, while minimizing risks and delays.

4. Engineering Design and Optimization: Lead the engineering design process, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to develop efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly green ammonia production facilities.

5. Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize process efficiency, reliability, and safety, incorporating advanced technologies and best practices into our operations.

6. Talent Development: Attract, develop, and retain top engineering talent, fostering a high-performing and collaborative team environment. Mentor and coach engineers to enhance their technical and leadership skills.

7. Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate closely with R&D, operations, procurement, and construction teams to ensure seamless integration and alignment across all project phases and departments.

8. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant engineering codes, standards, and regulations, including safety, environmental, and quality requirements.

9. Vendor and Contractor Management: Establish and maintain strategic relationships with engineering consultants, contractors, and equipment suppliers to optimize project outcomes and delivery.

10. Industry Engagement: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in process engineering, petrochemical projects, and sustainable technologies, actively participating in industry conferences, forums, and associations.


Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive engineering experience, with a focus on process engineering and petrochemical projects.
  • Strong expertise in process optimization, reliability, and safety, with a deep understanding of engineering principles and best practices.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing engineering teams in the development and execution of complex projects within the energy industry.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team of professionals.
  • In-depth knowledge of green ammonia production processes, including synthesis, purification, and associated infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring on-time delivery, budget control, and quality assurance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Process, or related field). A master's degree is highly desirable.
