Job Description

***This is an in-office/onsite position located in our Corporate Headquarters office in Ybor. Hybrid and remote work are not an option. Relocation offered for any out of state applicants.***

Summary


The VP of Retail Finance will directly support financial reporting of the Florida-based retail executive team. This position will provide and ensure consistent financial reporting practices and procedures as directed by the Corporate Finance team including compliance with internal controls as well as financial policies and procedures. There will be 15-25% travel required in the first year followed by approximately 10% travel each year thereafter.


Primary Job Functions


  1. Support the annual external audit and all periodic internal audits of retail.
  2. Gather and obtain corporate approval for all retail programs including incentive, capital expenditure, budgets and forecasts.
  3. Support all retail operational teams in improving business results including all strategic initiatives.
  4. Provide analytical support to executive management and continually improve financial reporting and data analysis.
  5. Work with the local retail teams to produce robust budgets and forecasts for all sales and cost areas.
  6. Identify risks and opportunity areas to the operations.
  7. Present the monthly forecasting figures to the retail team.
  8. Assist merger and acquisitions with planning cash flow needs based on assumptions made.
  9. Provide weekly performance reporting to the retail team, highlighting trends and opportunities to assist in improving profits, margins and cost reduction.
  10. Review detailed Profit & Loss statements with the retail team, highlighting poor performance and opportunities.
  11. Identify and deliver financial training to support the retail team.
  12. Liaises with the centralized accounting team on key areas of financial control such as collation of accruals and cross-charges on behalf of the local retail team.
  13. Work with the local retail team to ensure financial processes are followed.
  14. Examine and make recommendations on licensee financial operational performance.
  15. Assist with strategic planning and development of strategic initiatives.
  16. Ensure all weekly/periodic data is collected and imputed and period end numbers produced by central accounting are reviewed.

Job Qualifications


Education: Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance, Required


Experience: 10-15 years’ experience in Accounting and/or financial planning, reporting and analysis for a regional (multi-location) or national retail chain.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

· Strong leadership skills and proven ability to inspire and manage a team of 4-6

· Experience in financial reporting, forecasting and planning in a retail setting

· Strong strategy formulation and evaluation skills

· High proficiency in selected PC and mainframe financial applications

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Excellent interpersonal skills

· Retail Point of Sale (POS) and management systems.

· Operational accounting performance measurements

· Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma

· Budget planning and financial forecasting

· Strong attention to detail

· Effective time management and organizational skills

· Work independently as well as in a team environment

· Analytical and problem solving skills

· Maintain confidentiality

· Handle multiple projects simultaneously within established time constraints

· Proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially MS Excel
