Veterinary Technician - Ft

What you get to do:

• Perform in-house laboratory procedures and prepare samples for shipment to outside labs
• Stock and maintain hospital areas and vehicles
• Assist veterinarians in medical and surgical procedures and with treatment of animals including set-up and post-procedural cleaning and instrument processing
• Data entry in medical records and hospital databases
• Provide excellent guest service
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Provide the highest standard of nursing care for animals living at Busch Gardens as well as wildlife rehabilitation cases
• Assist with inventory of hospital supplies

What it takes to succeed:

• Experience with Zoo/Wildlife/Exotic animals preferred
• Team-oriented, with a positive attitude
• Work 40 hours/week with ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
• Must have a valid Driver's License and must be able to meet company's driving requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Certified Veterinary Technician required
• Veterinary Technician degree or equivalent
• Computer skills necessary

What else is important:

• Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, in varying Florida weather to include extreme heat
• Must attach resume to be considered for this role
• Ability to lift, push and carry up to 50 pounds
• Compensation $20/hour
• Able to follow directions and work independently
• Perform the following physical activities on a frequent basis: stand, walk, climb, bend floor-to-waist/waist-to-overhead and reach overhead, simple grasp and fine manipulation tasks.
