About the client:


This client provides unparalleled reproductive solutions and knowledge to cattle enthusiasts through a dedicated expert team that collaborates intimately with customers, comprehending their breeding aspi rations, and aiding in the enhancement and propagation of superior genetic traits.


About the position:


Enhance the outcomes of client cattle breeding initiatives by proficiently producing embryos from donor cows and ensuring successful pregnancies in recipient cows. Prioritize minimizing risks associated with diseases and trauma during the embryo extraction and transfer processes. Oversee the health and reproductive health of the cows in our care, while fostering a positive work environment and consistently exceeding customer expectations.


Main responsibilities: ( Additional day-to-day tasks will be discussed during the interview process.)


  • Oversee and implement programs for prevention, nutrition, reproduction, and overall well-being of cattle both in the clinic and on farms.
  • Administer necessary tests and complete documentation for cattle transportation across state lines.
  • Tackle additional tasks as directed by management.
  • Lead ultrasound-guided procedures for collecting ovum in cattle for IVF embryo generation.
  • Utilize ultrasonography to: Determine gender in transferred and in-vitro embryos; Assess the count and health of fetuses in cows that received clone or research embryos.
  • Adhere to the company's policies and procedures.
  • Conduct embryo extraction and transfers in both the clinic and on client farms in specified regions.
  • Provide medical attention to unwell donor and recipient cows and calves.
  • Execute specialized surgical procedures as required for specific research or joint projects.
  • Ensure herd health protocols and SOPs align with bovine embryo export regulations.
  • Design and evaluate protocols for superovulation and synchronization in both donors and recipients.
  • Participate in emergency call duties during weekends on a rotational basis.
  • Uphold a professional demeanor that mirrors the company's industry reputation.
  • Conduct rectal examinations to check the reproductive health of incoming and adjusted recipient cows.
  • Champion and refine bio-security measures in both clinical and farm settings.


Requirements The qualifications we need:


  • A recognized Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or its equivalent.
  • Current full accreditation with the USDA – APHIS.
  • Certification from the American Embryo Transfer Association or ability to achieve it.
  • Active state licenses or capability to obtain them.


Physical and Working Conditions:


  • Robust physical strength and the skill to manage the cattle reproductive system frequently.
  • Stamina to stand for extended duration.
  • Willingness to travel, including occasional overnight trips, especially during peak seasons.
  • Can lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Capacity to work extended hours, up to 14 hours, particularly during high-demand seasons.
  • Precise hand coordination and keen tactile sensation.


Other Competencies:


  • A valid driver’s license with proficiency in handling a company vehicle.
  • Computer literacy, particularly with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • A high standard of professionalism.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Aptitude for building rapport with clients and understanding their needs.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for cattle reproduction and a continuous aspiration for learning and growth.

Salary: New grads (110K) Mid-level salary range (150K – 200K) depending on experience
