Job Description
What to Expect
The Role
At Tesla, our Vehicle Inspection Specialists will be the front line for cars heading to our delivery centers. This role will be the delivery team’s on-the-ground eyes and be responsible for ensuring a true picture of the quality of the cars is captured prior to vehicle arrival at its destination. This position is responsible for ensuring all vehicle concerns are accurately documented. The position requires a significant amount of interaction with factory employees, technicians, sales, service, and delivery. The ideal candidate will not only possess a customer experience mindset, but also the ability to understand factory quality standards. This position will be based in Fremont, Ca
What You’ll Do
  • Root cause issues and work with factory teams to contain and resolve quality issues
  • Work with cross functional teams to establish and monitor concerns and containments
  • Document & communicate any identified concerns.
  • Drive implementation of corrective actions
  • Comprehend current production quality standards and determine if ongoing production meets those standards.
  • Construct and maintain strong relationships with members of all nearby teams.
  • Monitor/track trials and audits and provide effective feedback on status and results.
  • Communicate emerging and trending quality issues to prevent negative impact to the factory.
  • Troubleshoot issues and escalate to management through appropriate channels when needed
  • Perform an inspection of a vehicle based on our customer’s feedback
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to meet business needs.
  • Escalate concerns that are not being properly resolved in your immediate work area.
  • Ability to learn and properly document non-conformances within the factory manufacturing systems
Requirements
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to be a team player
  • Ability to lift 50 - 60 pounds
  • Proven track record of a great work ethic
  • 1-2 years of quality inspection experience and/or customer service experience preferred
  • Knowledge of methods, techniques, parts, tools, and materials used in vehicle maintenance and repair
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Valid driver’s license in the country in which you are applying, 2-year minimum driving record required with a clean driving history, and ability to be insured
