Bluehawk Consulting is seeking a UX Designer II to support one of the world's largest software development companies.

Project Overview

Our client is looking for a talented UX Designer who is passionate about user-centered design, impeccable visual style, systems thinking, innovative interactions, and accessibility. Your creations will range from sketches and prototypes to high-fidelity layouts that showcase the complete composition, colors, and typography of the end-to-end user experience.

Responsibilities

• You'll be responsible for producing inspiring concepts, leveraging branding guidelines and having a hand in evolving them.
• Must demonstrate the ability to execute design work with a high standard for quality within time and technical constraints amid competing priorities and ambiguous situations.
• The ideal candidate will be an advocate for the end-user and possess experience in user-centered philosophies and best practices for visual design.
• You will have the opportunity to work in a multi-discipline team to craft designs that improve user’s lives and define the vision of the end-to-end user experience.

Typical Day In The Role

• The candidate will get feedback from the team, will be expected to present every week or every other week to the sponsor and/or share the work with the whole design team.
• There will be down time and time for collaborations with the sponsor and the head visual designer.
• The candidate will work with the engineering team and will work with partner teams as well.
• 20 - 30% meetings - Depending on how much the candidate gets involved.
• For the system building, the candidate will work with the fluent team to ensure things are translating into OneDrive nicely.

Required Skills & Experience

• Mastery of Figma, Illustrator, Photoshop, Design Systems, Visual Design or similar design tools – 5 years of experience.
• Demonstrates a strong skill set in systems thinking & visual design. Unrelenting attention to detail.
• 5 years of professional experience or equivalent intern experience.
• High level of comfort designing for web and desktop experiences with the opportunity to work on mobile experiences.
• Ability to rapidly prototype and iterate designs.
• Strong organization skills (process driven and capable of building a system/guidelines).
• Ability to document user experience and interactivity through wireframes, flowcharts, screenshots, design specifications, and demos.
• Strong problem solving, creative, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Self-motivated and excited to build products (with minimal direction).

Nice To Have Skills

• Knowledge or experience working with design tokens is a huge plus.
• Experience creating style guides, toolkits, and design systems is a huge plus.
• Design tokens (semantic slots, color systems) represent design choices as data, which facilitates the creation of systematically harmonized and cohesive product experiences. They replace statis values (such as hex) with descriptive names and provide an elegant solution for maintaining design consistency.

Education

Required Education

• BA/BS or higher degree in Interaction Design or related discipline (Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Visual Design) or equivalent work experience.

Salary Range for this position: $95,000 - $105,000
