Cimpl's, LLC., an American Foods Group Company, has opportunities for a Mechanical Engineering Technician I at our Yankton, SD plant.
- Basic knowledge of electrical components and operation.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance (e.g., grease bearings, lubricate, check fluid levels, replace filters, etc.) to ensure that machines run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
- Assemble, disassemble, repair, or replace defective equipment or parts (e.g., change belts, gearboxes, etc.).
- Assemble, install, or repair plumbing (e.g., threading pipe), equipment or machinery to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of an establishment in repair.
- Perform basic hydraulics (e.g., change motors, make hoses, etc.).
- NOTE this description is not intended to be all-inclusive. An employee may perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization; these duties are considered marginal.
- Complete necessary paperwork in EAM system (PM sheets, work orders, etc.).
- Perform basic welding (e.g., primarily tig; and stick). Ability to identify good and bad welds.
- Identify and locate parts/part numbers from machinery or equipment manuals or parts catalogs (e.g., Cryovac, overhead chains, rail switches, conveyors, saws, etc.).
- This is a pre-arranged employment program.
- Must successfully complete the TN visa application process and company hiring process to be eligible for a pre-arranged FT job at the Cimpl's plant.
- Must be a Canadian or Mexican citizen that works in specific professional occupations to enter and work in the U.S. under TN authorization.
- Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP).
- Scissor lift.
- Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Safe Quality Food (SQF).
- Pallet Jack.
- Safety.
- Food defense.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Lock out/tag out.
- Must be able to successfully complete training
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Forklift.
- Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Prior experience using hand and power tools, precision measuring tools and the ability to read and work from drawings and blueprints.
- Diploma or GED.
- 6 months maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
