Project Manager UP & UP HRSA Grant

The University of Tennessee Knoxville, College of Nursing is accepting applications for a Project Manager position. The Project manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the UP & UP HRSA Grant (Mobile Health Training: Underrepresented Providers & Underrepresented Populations) including collaborating with the partners/grant team specifically the Public Relations Director and IT personnel. The project manager will lead the marketing of services and recruiting of nursing students and patients in the five rural counties (Hamblen, McMinn, Monroe, Morgan, Sevier). Transporter duties will include maintaining the van and driving to five telehealth sites, setting up the equipment, making appointments, obtaining patient demographic data and the consent for treatment. The Project Manager will also oversee data management and grant reporting. Reporting and evaluative processes included are activities such as coordination of information, presentations, and communication for various meetings, and university departments, grant team participants.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee financial accounting and coordination of grant budget/expenditures and development of systems/processes to support grant compliance, data tracking and required reporting
  • Oversee monitoring and tracking all grant and travel related expenditures - in compliance with departmental, university and federal guidelines and regulations
  • Oversight, completion, and communication management of required federal outcome reporting within HRSA, university, and college of nursing (CON) time lines
  • Manage partnership efforts with and support UP & UP grant team members to achieve coordinated-productive performance and the highest level of grant quality outcomes practicable. Grant team members include CON, program director, site coordinator, director of diversity, equity and inclusion, staff, and students; consultants, evaluation team members, partners with the 5 health departments
  • Solves problems, optimizes processes and functions, scheduling, and tracking. Creates time lines - follows up on deadlines and tracking actions, ensuring processes are completed in timely manner and by agreed-upon dates
  • Participate in and/or provide presentations/communication briefings at meetings and/or other gatherings
  • Facilitates team meetings, creates minutes and maintains database and data distribution for team members
  • Communicates with team members using reminders and follow-up communication to ensure UP & UP program deadlines are met
  • Collaborates with program director and CON public relations to ensure timely communication of grant activities publicly and internally (e.g. media, social media) to broad stakeholder base
  • Maintaining the van and driving to five telehealth sites (Monroe, McMinn, Morgan and Sevier)
  • Setting up the telehealth equipment & Scheduling patient appointments
  • Obtaining patient demographic data and the consent for treatment
  • Supervise and monitor student orientation, and scheduling in collaboration with program director and CON: advisors, public relations director, IT personnel, faculty, and staff. Other tasks as assigned related to grant activities

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong working relationship with a variety of constituencies including staff, students, faculty, consultants, community partners.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, team coordination, budgeting, and reporting skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office and other technologies required to fulfill role.
  • Knowledge/command of the overall grant purpose, goals, and objectives.
