This is a Memphis, TN position. CTI will consider applicants who desire/prefer remote or work-from-home employment if ALL REQUIRED EXPERIENCE and a majority of PREFERRED EXPERIENCE are met. Must be able to work onsite or remote as necessary.
SUMMARY:
The Unity Programmer is responsible for developing Interactive Courseware (ICW) within the Unity Editor to create 2D and 3D instructional games, applications, and learning experiences in support of defense contracts. Unity Programmer is a member of a courseware development team, working directly with Instructional System Designers, Courseware Development Specialists, and Subject Matter Experts to take fully developed courseware (including fully populated instructional text, and fully developed supporting digital media/art) and transform it into fully functioning, immersive online courseware.
Position Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Game Design, or Computer Science. Unity Programmer experience as a member of a courseware development team is preferred. The degree requirement may be waived if related experience and/or certification can be demonstrated.
Training and Experience:
Required Experience:
3-5 years of Unity programming experience in both 2D and 3D application development
High level of proficiency in C# and Unity Script.
Highly Familiar with Unity version 2021.3 or later
Familiarity with Scrum or other agile frameworks for code development
Prior use of work management and organization tools such as Jira or Rally
Experience with UX design and implementation
Preferred Experience:
Prior experience developing courseware or educational tools and applications
Understanding of best-practices for Unity application design and builds
Familiarity with 2D and/or 3D graphic tools such as Adobe Photoshop/GIMP/Maya
High end game development experience
Exceptional attention to detail
General Skills:
Excellent oral, written, and visual communication skills; able to handle multiple tasks; flexible with work assignments; works well with a multitude of personalities; works with little to no supervision. Must be able to troubleshoot and identify defects in software tools. Must be able to work with others to elicit proper requirements from Story Boards or other source documents. Demonstrate desire to build engaging 2D and 3D training/teaching applications.
Computer Skills:
Required proficiency with Unity Editor and C#. Experience working with OOP.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for helping plan, design and implement interactive courseware using Unity, Jira, Visual Studio and other tools.
Expected to communicate daily in solving problems and building top-notch courseware.
Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
