So what makes this job different? Our unit secretaries help provide compassionate, faith-based care to patients. From greeting visitors to answering call lights – this is a job that gives you the chance to take your clerical skills and focus them on a higher calling.

• Maintains supplies and office equipment, including downtime devices as well as logs maintenance repairs and maintenance of unit statistics.
• Assist with patient turning and lifting.
• Assist with transporting patients.
• Serve as liaison/unit representative.
• Place room notification (i.e. magnets, signs) for patients who are fall risks, have wounds, or on isolation precautions.
• Provides unit support by assisting with bed assignments and maintaining accurate patient locations in Epic.
• Maintains staff assignments and phone lists to ensure efficient operation of the unit.
• Greet and assist patients, visitors, physicians, students, and staff contacts consulting physicians and answer call lights.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS)- Required
• High School Diploma/ GED- Preferred
• Health Unit Coordinator (HUC)- Preferred
• 1 year Healthcare related experience- Preferred
