Medline has an immediate opening for an experienced front-end developer to join our software development team in Mundelein/Chicago, IL. This position will be responsible for designing and implementing solutions for various business initiatives. The ideal candidate is someone who is self-motivated, pleasant to collaborate with, and constantly seeking to improve and expand their skills.

Responsibilities:

• Ability to navigate ambiguous and complex business problems.
• Adhere to IS Department policies and best practices.
• Facilitate design meetings with users, management, and architects.
• Participate and foster DevOps adaptation by the team.
• Understanding and applicability of TDD, Pair programming and Mob programming concepts
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects.
• Participate in code reviews.
• Support production environment availability when needed.
• Follow Medline's Code of Ethics and other corporate policies.
• Design, code, test, deploy, and support software for our business and commerce needs.
• Maintain a professional demeanor.
• Work productively with all levels of Medline employees.
• Analyze production issues to determine root cause and course of action for resolution.
• Write documentation to ensure proper use of software systems.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development practices.
• Adhere to established coding standards.

Qualifications:

Those interested in applying should be knowledgeable of the following:

• Knowledge of unit testing frameworks like jest, karma, jasmine
• SEO best practices
• TypeScript
• Understanding of version control tools like BitBucket, git or svn.
• Interfacing with REST APIs
• Object-oriented & Functional Programming
• Object oriented design principles and MV* patterns
• ES6 JavaScript
• Knowledge of react tools like – hooks, webpack, nodejs, JSX, babel
• HTML5
• Good knowledge of server side rendering (SSR)
• React 16+
• Angular 4+
• SCSS, LESS, CSS3

Experience with the following is also desirable:

• Deployment strategies for react based projects
• Scrum methodologies
• Server Side coding experience like ExpressJS, Node etc.
• Micro Front End Pattern (Single SPA, Module Federation)
• Jenkins pipelines
• Bootstrap
• Mobile frameworks like Ionic, Cordova etc.
• Build tools like npm, yarn etc.
• Accessibility
