Job Description

Join us on a mission to simplify and dignify the aging experience. We are the children, siblings, neighbors, and friends of those navigating the fragmented and confusing system of long-term care. Our team is ferociously curious and relentless in our pursuit of a better system – and we are deeply committed to a sense of belonging for all, in all phases of life.

We’re creating a new experience for care seekers and their families, bringing together long-term care options, non-healthcare resources, education, and human support into one place. We work hard, we have fun, we care about each other, and we share the mission. If this sounds like a place where you could thrive, join us!

CareScout is a division of Genworth Financial, Inc, a Fortune 500 provider of products, services and solutions that help families address the financial challenges of aging.

About The Job:

We are looking for a talented and experienced Lead Interactive Systems Designer to join our digital startup CareScout. As the Lead Interactive Systems Designer, you will be responsible for designing and owning the design system. You are adept in building Figma components, templates, modules, and prototypes based on the digital brand guidelines which they will help design and manage. You will collaborate with our UX and Development teams to create an intuitive, cohesive, and visually appealing digital product to ensure consistency and accuracy of the design system across all platforms. Key to this role will also be the ability to deliver plug-and-play front end design code i.e. some micro interactions such as button styles, hovers and states along with how components of the design might respond to different screen resolutions and or how detailed features work via interaction and or simple animations.

This role will help all of the design teams at CareScout create world class consumer facing digital products by enabling agile and responsive iteration both in market and in research activities through a kit of parts that in total are the CareScout experience digitally. The goal of the Design Systems Lead is to maintain a high level of quality control for all design works produced and to provide guidance and mentorship to other designers, copywriters and CareScout team members who are involved in the conceiving and development of future iterations of the CareScout platform.

We are looking for a Lead interactive Systems Designer who sweats the details as that is where magic can happen bringing intuitive, caring and even delightful interfaces to life for our users.

Necessary Qualifications :

• Strong experience in design systems, with a focus on digital products

• Deep understanding and passion of the key principles of great interaction design

• Visual design sensitivity and taste - typography, layout, color theory and micro animation

• Strong expertise in Figma, with the ability to build components, variants, templates, and modules from scratch that scale across the CareScout platform

• Experience working with digital brand guidelines

• A grasp of written English and the ability to write microcopy for key interactions.

• Understanding of the opportunities and limitations of working on a responsive web-based platform vs/ and or native app based design

• Front-end coding experience, including HTML, CSS and a familiarity with React, to deliver visual designs straight into development teams

• Front-end development experience including JavaScript, SPAs(React/Next.js or Angular), HTML, and CSS, to deliver visual designs straight into development teams

• A background working with software developers/engineers and Agile Web Development Teams

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively

• Experience leading a team of designers is a plus

Diverse Perspectives:

We know that innovation thrives on product teams where diverse points of view come together to solve hard problems in ways that are just now possible. As such, we explicitly seek people that bring diverse life experiences, diverse educational backgrounds, diverse cultures, and diverse work experiences. Please be prepared to share with us how your perspective will bring something unique and valuable to our product teams.
