Department Overview
The Treasury Department is responsible for the Firm’s overall cash management, allocation of investment opportunities and maintenance of third-party lines of credit. Primary functions within Treasury include short and long-term cash forecasting, pre-trade compliance, asset allocations, cash positioning and debt compliance. The Treasury Department collaborates closely with many internal and external partners to ensure the Firm’s financing goals are met. These partners include senior management, Structured Products, Middle Market Lending and Broadly Syndicated Loan Origination Teams, Accounting, Operations, Tax and Investor Relations as well as banking partners, trustees, accounting firms, administrators and rating agencies.
Position Responsibilities
The Treasury Analyst is a critical component to the origination and preservation of the various debt facilities at Golub Capital, as well as the investment closing process. This function ensures Golub Capital has the necessary funds available in the appropriate managed accounts prior to funding assets and remains compliant within the debt / investment agreements in the various managed account, third-party credit facilities and subscription lines of credit.
Position responsibilities include:
  • Provide back-up support and redundancy to other Treasury Analysts
  • Forecast the expected use of funds by day and week in order to provide recommendations to senior management on the best uses of cash across the various Golub Capital entities
  • Coordinate with the Closing Team, Investor Relations, Operations, Accounting, banks and Trustees in managing the amount of cash held in various entities each day. This requires a full understanding of the cash flow mechanics of the various pools of capital including bank lines of credit, CLO revolvers and capital calls.
  • Maintain appropriate records for data integrity
  • Open, close and maintain bank accounts as well as provide KYC information as requested
  • Learn the cash management processes for the other Golub Capital entities that are not part of the primary responsibilities in order to serve as back-up funder for those accounts
  • Prepare required documents for capital calls, distributions, cash sweeps, borrowings (including borrowing bases, as applicable) and pay downs across the various Golub Capital credit facilities and managed accounts
  • Update liability activity in Wall Street Office
  • Assist with various ad-hoc projects and requests arising from management
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Continually strive to develop skills and remain informed of “best practices”
  • Prepare or reconcile as appropriate monthly investor / bank servicer reports and other related compliance data with the Trustees. Coordinate with internal Golub Capital groups to research and correct any differences in loan referential data (e.g., loan ratings, industries, loan type, credit metrics) associated with the monthly reports. Ensure reports meet the requirements of the governing documents.
  • Work with third party accounting firms during audits of managed funds in providing necessary data and reconciling exceptions
  • Lead the daily cash management process across a subset of Golub Capital’s managed accounts and lines of credit to ensure there is appropriate cash on-hand to fund each day’s lending activity
Candidate Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
  • CPA, CTP and / or audit experience desired
  • Ability to independently drive projects to completion, while also functioning effectively in a team environment
  • At least two years of analytical work experience in financial services. Working with lenders and lines of credit is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Windows, Excel and Word required; knowledge of Wall Street Office, SharePoint and GTreasury systems are a plus
  • Competency in legal / credit documentation
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics required
  • Flexibility around responsibilities and working hours, as required
