Job Description

About Our Client
Our client is a 22 year old general contractor that specializes in large multifamily and hospitality projects all over the Midwest. They are currently looking for a traveling superintendent to work on a 12 week project in Minnesota. Following that project, our project allows the superintendent to choose their next location.   • Track long lead items & material procurement.
  • Assist in the development of the Master Project Schedule.
  • Seek opportunities to enhance project efficiency.
  • Manage efficient & timely project close-out including punch list completion, as-built review, attic stock demobilization, etc.
  • Identify schedule slippage & provide a recovery plan.
  • Enforce all OSHA safety rules.
  • Assist in the preparation of RFIs, providing recommended solutions for consideration.
  • Attend trade contractor scope reviews prior to trade award.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings & walk-throughs, as required.
  • Coordinate all required inspections (municipal, material, etc.).
  • Manage QA / QC program, including inspecting & approving the work product.
  • Support logistics planning.
  • Prepare & distribute detailed Daily Construction Reports (DCRs).
  • Prepare & distribute focus schedules.
  • Schedule all trade & manpower activities for efficient work flow.
  • Maintain current OSHA required certifications (30-hour, CPR, scaffold, etc.)
  • Host weekly subcontractor coordination meetings & provide detailed meeting minutes.
  • Hold start-up meetings with subcontractors to review scope of work, schedule & safety requirements.

The Successful Applicant
  • Proven track record of effectively and efficiently managing job sites
  • Experience leading ground-up construction projects and managing a large team
  • 2+ years as a construction superintendent for a commercial general contractor
  • TI and ground-up experience (preferably with diverse projects)
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
