Position Title: Mobile Phlebotomist Driver

Have you recently completed an EMT, Medical Assisting, or Phlebotomy program? OR have you received on-the-job training in phlebotomy?
If so, a Mobile Phlebotomist role may be for you.
As a Mobile Phlebotomist Driver, your role will include engaging donor experiences, opportunities to explore local sceneries, driving as part of local "field trips," and most of all - utilizing your phlebotomy talent as a HERO.
Our Mobile Phlebotomist Drivers perform routine work related to the setup/teardown of mobile sites and the screening, collection, and hematroning of blood and blood products. Mobile Phlebotomists are critical to the success of Blood Drives. Their frequent contact with the donor public and professionalism results in necessary blood units used to support over 170 hospitals and service partners across the Greater Gulf Coast area.

In this role, you'll:
- Assist with the loading, unloading, setup, and tearing down equipment at mobile donor sites.
- Assist other staff members in maintaining smooth workflow and processes.
- Comply with existing policies and procedures. Maintain upkeep of assigned departmental equipment.
- Maintain an acceptable level of proficiency in required phlebotomy procedures.
- Attend and complete continuing education and training in phlebotomy procedures, instruments, and equipment as required.
- Complete pre-departure and post-draw checks of departmental vehicles and equipment.
- Actively recruit donors at donor sites.
- Perform pre-donation screening, venipuncture, and post-venipuncture care of donors per Standard Operating Procedures.
- Demonstrate a strong level of customer service skills and customer service focus.
- Identify and address non-routine situations arising during phlebotomy procedures and report them to the supervisor.
- Accurately and legibly complete donor records on time.
- Operate departmental vehicles for transporting staff and equipment to the mobile site per the guidelines set forth by the Vehicle Loss Control Committee of the Blood Center.
We need someone who has the following:
- A Valid Texas Driver's License with one plus year of driving experience and an acceptable driving record.
- Establishing and maintaining a positive rapport with donors to provide high-level customer service.
- The ability to interact professionally and politely with others.
- Earned at minimum a High School Diploma or GED
- Six months of phlebotomy experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
We prefer:
- Associates degree from an accredited college or university
- EMT Certification or Licenses in a related field
- Certification in Phlebotomy
- Valid CDL

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions when loading and unloading equipment at mobile sites, toxic or caustic chemicals, blood and blood components, and other bio-hazardous material. The employee is frequently exposed to the risk of electrical shock. In addition, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and radiation risk. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Job duties involve an inherent potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood with a risk of exposure to Hepatitis and HIV.
