Description

Title: Trauma-Focused Mental Health Therapist
Job type: Part time to Full-time
Location: 140 W 2100 S, Suite 110, Salt Lake City, UT 84115
Remote: Maximum One Day a Week
Overview: A Technologically-Driven, Trauma-focused, Culturally-Integrative, and Socially-Conscious Behavioral Health Clinic Seeking Non-judgemental and Non-punitive Therapist

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Referrals to the QMP (Qualified Medical Provider), PCP (Primary Care Provider), and other Prescribing or Medical Providers for medicinal adjuncts to mental health therapy.
  • Coordination of care between treatment team and outside providers.
  • Participation in group consultation and supervision when appropriate.
  • Assessment of PTSD and other trauma and stressor-related mental health and substance use problems.
  • Soft-closures, transfers, and peaceful departures when the therapeutic relationship is required to end or when a patient's needs require a new provider.
  • Individualized trauma-focused intensive treatment planning and eclectic use of evidence-based trauma-informed psychotherapeutic modalities.
  • Timely completion of audit-ready clinical documentation that will optimize and generate billing revenue and maintain licensing/industry compliance.
  • Provide a minimum of 5 hours of therapy services a week and demonstrate punctuality and reliability for the team and patients.
  • Implementation and use of validated screening instruments to understand the life-events and symptoms of the patient suffering from PTSD.
  • 1:1 individual sessions and group sessions with the patient (family and couples when applicable).


Values to be Demonstrated:

  • Maintain a mental memory and/or written record of the efficacy of cannabis product and regimen between medical-cannabis subscribers, that may correlate with lab measures in urine drug testing or other self-reported or observed measures, in order to information-share and promote best practice.
  • Monitor and address the unique needs of each individual medical-cannabis subscriber, including the way in which the medical cannabis is being prescribed and used, to fully understand what potential uses could be positively impacting or hindering nueropsychotherapeutic progress and overall life satisfaction and quality of life.
  • Use symptom identification and monitoring as an opportunity promote, encourage, and sale additional retail products & services that will serve as an appropriate adjunct to the individual session and progress towards treatment plan goals.
  • Resourceful and collaborative in educating on the use cannabis as a medicine and healing agent and understands that each patient has their own therapeutic dosing range and one that they may have to experiment with initially.
  • 360-degree communication and open-door policy so that a robust and direct dialogue and discourse can take place, with patients and other providers.
  • Affirmation and encouragement of the use of cannabis for medicinal purposes while educating and focusing on the medicinal vs. recreational value and benefits of cannabis in-conjunction with neuropsychotherapy, all while maintaining compliance with State law.
  • Monitor and assist the patient with managing use of medical-cannabis in a way that helps them to identify the most effective medical-cannabis formulary from the patient satisfaction perspective and helps the patient build a regimen, in collaboration with the Therapist, QMP, and Pharmacist, that will aid in the efficacy of other neuropsychotherapies for Trauma-Focused Care in-conjunction with the Medical Cannabis.
  • Cross-referrals and coordination-of-care for the patient and/or their friends and family needing help or assistance with information, education, dosing, prescribing/de-prescribing, and other medical services including detoxification, crisis, and emergent medical monitoring/intervention for cannabis, alcohol, and other drugs or mental health problems.
  • Cultivation of a culture where open-mindedness and non-judgement with the team and patients is always occurring and non-punitive action towards accountability can be achieved.
  • Address psycho-social stressors and other complexities and co-morbidities in order to help whole parts heal without demeaning or devaluing the cannabis the patient might be subscribed to medicinally.
  • Deliberate study and evaluation of where further exploration and discovery for learning can be found through different channels of science and research about PTSD treatment.
  • Attunement to the challenges & risks of cannabis use including misuse vs. mis-prescription, accessibility issues vs. abuse, overprescribing vs. dependence problems, and diversion vs. affordability.


Requirements:
Interns, Provisionally-Licensed, or Fully-Licensed Mental Health Professionals: (Counselors, Clinicians, Therapists). From accredited educational institutions In-good standing, no professional complaints or probationary status. Good attitude, flexibility, and enthusiasm. Since we are a liberation clinic, we expect our team to be well versed in the principles of I.D.E.A.S. (inclusivity, diversity, equity, accessibility, and sustainability) as well as have knowledge and understanding in regard to white supremacy cultural standards of de-humanization that is and has impacted the mental health and self-worth of our clientele and their families.

Salary range: $25 - $85 per hour
