Job Description

SUMMARY:

Transportation Coordinator will assemble, plan, and load all daily shipping. Monitor drivers progress on each run. Assist / support drivers and operators as needed. Assist Production when needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (But limited to):

  • The scheduling and routing of both company and contract carrier trucks, for delivery of materials within published delivery schedules; this includes the associated forms (BOL) and data entry.
  • Monitoring and coordinating maintenance of all fleet equipment meeting company and DOT standards.
  • Maintain maintenance records (Repair invoices) – for tractors and trailers.
  • Schedule LTL shipments as needed.
  • Daily communication and direction to company drivers
  • Evaluating and making recommendations for ongoing improvement in procedures and processes
  • Compiling, completing, and maintaining reports as required by the company and DOT
  • Load and unload material on trucks from point of production as necessary

Job Requirements:

MIMINUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite Applications.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Strong communication skills: initiative to prioritize and handle duties timely.
  • Operation of mobile equipment in a manufacturing setting
  • Working knowledge of DOT regulations
  • Experience with Dispatch Track and NetSuite is a PLUS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to computer screens using keyboard functions and other hand usage. Majority work will be performed on production floor including mobile equipment operation.
