Transportation Coordinator Jobs

The Logistics Coordinator role is part of the Weyerhaeuser Supply Chain Organization and manages the transportation processes of the Wood Products organization’s inventory and goods. This position reports to the Director of Logistics and is based in Hot Springs, AR. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Hot Springs Logistics team, facilitating communication between production, sales, and vendors to promote a healthy and efficient supply chain. The person in this role will coordinate with transportation providers to arrange prompt and proper movement of shipments to ensure the quality of services provided meet the required customer and manufacturing standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for building strong working relationships with customer service, manufacturing, sales, and suppliers.

The right candidate will have the skills and knowledge to provide excellent logistics support, identify opportunities to streamline work, and is driven enough to grow within the role through increasing responsibility within our supply chain team within Weyerhaeuser.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

• Work cooperatively as a member of logistics team to continuously improve transportation costs and efficiency

• Provide superior customer service and communication, directly supporting wood products

• Effectively communicate with customer service, sales, mill, and vendors

• Proactively identify and resolve problems

• Ensure all customer requirements for load movements are met, optimizing equipment, and managing tight timelines

• Manage carrier appointments and delinquents to deliver reliable service

• Responsible for maintaining positive relationships and developing solutions to prevent and mitigate service failures

• Work within computer-based logistics system for truck movements

• Problem solve to bring trouble loads to resolution

• Ability to follow best practices, training documentation and deliver on team metrics

• Proven teamwork & collaboration skills
• Proficient Excel skills including basic formulas, lookups, and pivot tables
• Working knowledge of supply chain or logistics highly desired
• Experience in ERP(SAP), BI/BW applications and transportation management systems (TMS)
• Excellent communication / interpersonal skills (verbal and written)
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or similar discipline preferred
• Adaptable to challenging, fast paced, and changing work environment, requiring strong ability to prioritize changing work activities
