Job Description

Summary: Acts as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on SSC technical training programs relevant to the SSC Revenue Cycle process. The Training Specialist is responsible for analyzing training needs, developing curriculum and delivering technical training that supports SSC performance objectives.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities Include The Following
  • Effective delivery of competency-based courses for new hire, recurrent and up-training
  • Analyze training needs in the classroom and make on the fly adjustments that will support the learner’s success
  • Assist with the development and writing of curriculum and job aids
  • Recommends appropriate training programs that will enhance and hone the technical SSC staff
  • Ensures completion of all Compliance-required education during the learner’s first 30-days of employment
  • Assists with post-training analysis to evaluate and measure training results, modify programs as needed and develops effective curriculum utilizing a variety of media resources
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Prepare for and perform classroom set-up as needed, including preparation of training binders, training materials, etc. Maintain classroom appearance to be functional and effective
  • Completes ongoing quality assurance (QA) to identify and define training needs, operational improvements or policy/process updates
  • Cross-train in all areas of the SSC to develop a knowledge base to benefit the education program
Knowledge/Abilities
Required
  • Must possess excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to follow standardized curriculum while engaging the learner
  • Takes ownership for the learner’s progress and successful completion within the training cycle
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, creativity, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Successful track record of providing coaching for adults
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required to communicate with all level of staff including senior leadership
Preferred
  • Previous AS400 experience
  • Previous experience in instructional writing
  • Previous delivery of Revenue Cycle training in a healthcare scenario
  • Certified Instructional Trainer (CIT) or other training certification
  • Proficiency in SSC Cash department processes and Hyland OnBase workflow
  • Proficiency of AR department processes and Artiva workflow
Computer Skills
  • Microsoft Office Tools (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint), Google Suite (Sheets, Slides, Docs)

Education/Experience
Required
  • Associates degree or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Experience in a similar setting, providing revenue cycle services in a hospital business office
Preferred
  • 1 year of instructional writing experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field
  • 2-3 years previous classroom training experience, preferably in a professional office environment
