Job Brief

The Training Manager is fully responsible for the DHL eCS New Hire Onboarding program including facilitation, organization, scheduling and KPI reporting.

Summary:
The Training Manager is fully responsible for the DHL eCS New Hire Onboarding program including facilitation, organization, scheduling and KPI reporting. The Training Manager will lead the design, planning, implementation, management, and delivery of training to implement standard process workflows and enhance the skills, knowledge, and abilities of employees to support high-performing teams and to enhance company culture. The Training Manager will manage and develop frontline Operation Trainers in successfully carrying out DHL eCommerce’s training method “Training the DHL Way”. This role will also work closely with leaders cross-functionally to ensure their training team successfully trains new processes which are introduced in operations.

All programs are to be delivered in line with the 5 guiding principles focused on increasing employee engagement and retention:

3) Building a support network for employees beyond direct supervisors.

The Training Manager is a role model for the DHL Strategic Framework and infuses the mission, vision, values, and attributes of: As One, Right the First Time, Can Do and Passion into the new hire and employee experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Helps manage retention tracking and employee turnover rates and supports retention efforts.
  • Manages and supports the further development of the New Hire Onboarding.
  • Helps manage, assess, and track the conversion of temporary agency employees to fulltime DHL.
  • Creates and delivers training solutions that translate complex processes into easy-to-understand course materials and job aids.
  • Supports employee training, development, onboarding, and retention efforts.
  • Works in close partnership with leaders and functional teams to design and deliver functional training plans that supports priorities and development opportunities.
  • Determines time allotted for training in each role and a path for development of frontline employees.
  • Leads, organizes, facilitates, and implements the continuous improvement of the DHL eCS New Hire Onboarding program.
  • Implements strategies to track and communicate training status updates and business impact.
  • Develops, maintains and support training for New Process Implementation.
  • Reports weekly and monthly KPI on DC Onboarding and Training Program.
  • Identifies and assesses current and future training needs through job analysis, career paths, annual performance appraisals and consultation with leaders.
  • Maintains understanding of new educational and training techniques and methods.
  • Ability to execute in a variety of training mediums: operations floor trainings, online learning, classroom learning, and other.
  • Manages and directs the work of onsite training personnel.
  • Supports other activities as requested.
  • Maintains a keen understanding of training trends, developments, and best practices.

Education and/or Experience:

  • 5 years of operational training experience
  • Training within Industry experience a plus.
  • 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel) required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, education, HR or equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of Lean methodologies is a plus.
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations etc.).

Physical Demands:

  • Able to work a range of shifts based on operational needs.
  • Frequent standing and walking.
  • Physical demands are consistent with a professional office setting.
  • Up to 10% travel may be required for offsite meetings and training
