POSITION SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE
The Training & Development Manager plays a central role in finalizing the enterprise learning strategy and is responsible for its implementation design, rollout and continuous improvement. Manages and facilitates the end-to-end development and delivery of learning content for the organization. The role sources, develops, organizes, distributes and serves as a facilitator for high-quality, relevant learning solutions to employees and teams, often hosted on multiple platforms and/or delivered via digital devices. Role will have a strong understanding of the best in class learning and development content to leverage in order meet the organization’s learning needs and achieve the desired learning objectives in alignment with the organization’s goals and strategy.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
· Builds relationships with managers and subject-matter experts to identify training and development needs from existing materials and external content for all levels of the organization.
- New Hire, Compliance, Technical/role-specific, management, team building and leadership
· Designs and develops the identified end-to-end learning solutions and training content in alignment with target audience(s) learning needs including but not limited to training presentations, facilitator workbooks, reference guides, and job aids.
· Serves as a trainer/facilitator for group and team training sessions at all levels of the organization.
· Manages a SME network to ensure regular content audits and gap analyses are conducted in order to maintain the currency and compliance of information.
· Tests, and assesses/measures the impact of learning solutions for all levels of the organization.
· Develops and manages/oversees the organization’s learning management system strategy and solution.
· Establishes and communicates enterprise standards and guidelines for presentation, classification, and quality of learning content.
· Ensures that all learning content is up to date, accessible, and in formats that improves the learner experience.
· In partnership with managers and SMEs, facilitates the development of enterprise career tracks and the corresponding learning/content requirements.
· Provides coaching and training to employees on the delivery of learning solutions.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
· Knowledge and working experience with learning management systems (LMS) and content management systems.
· Experience working with high level executives.
· Experience with team and leadership assessment and development tools (e.g. DISC, MBTI, Franklin Covey, Situational Leadership etc.)
· Established network in the leaning and development professional community.
· Prior experience assisting in the development of presentations to key leaders in the organization.
· Knowledge of project management concepts, techniques, tools, and best practices.
· Very strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Confidence and expertise with group learning solution facilitation at all levels of an organization.
· Consultative skills and savvy.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree or college diploma (or equivalent) in Human Resources, Adult Education, Instructional Design, or related field.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in L&D and/or instructional design.
· Adult education certification completed or in progress, Certification in Instructional Design preferred.
· Certifications in team and leadership assessment and development tools (e.g. DISC, MBTI, Franklin Covey, Situational Leadership etc.)
· Progressive experience in Human Resources and/or Marketing preferred.
· In-depth understanding of social web tools, digital media, and digital learning sources preferred.
· Experience with design software (e.g. Adobe Captivate) or designing e-learning programs preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
· Physical demands are considered to be that of an office environment, climate controlled, with minimal physical exertion. This position requires prolonged sitting, ability to utilize a computer and interactions with others in meetings or via phone.
· Ability to travel as necessary according to business needs.
