Trading Analyst - Bess

Futura Energy Group is seeking a Trading Analyst to support the commercial operations of utility scale PV and BESS projects, specifically within ERCOT.

This position is with a growing utility scale developer whose emphasis is on developing utility scale BESS and PV projects across the US. the selected candidate will work on a flexible hybrid schedule while reporting into our client's Austin, TX office.

Primary Focus:

• Engage with asset managers and service providers for real-time dispatch management and strategy implementation.
• Monitor evolving market trends, ISO protocols, and regulatory changes, assessing their influence on pricing dynamics, and communicate updates to commercial and development teams.
• Dig into historical datasets to extract statistical correlations supporting strategic decision-making.
• Collaborate on refining, routinely updating, and deciphering daily reports and model outcomes to optimize the efficiency of storage assets.
• Enhance the reservoir of market insights to fine-tune the bidding strategy for battery storage facilities, encompassing supply-demand analysis, weather pattern examination, and market practice assessment.
• Contribute to the formulation of bid/offer curves for storage assets.
• Conduct comprehensive analyses related to market congestion concerning asset locations.

Qualifications:

• Highly Proficient in MS Excel.
• Solid understanding of statistical principles.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, or a related field is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience within the ERCOT market
• Capacity to excel in an entrepreneurial context, demonstrating a proactive and resourceful work ethic.
• Detail-oriented and analytical mindset, coupled with a tendency to question assumptions.
• The ideal candidate should be capable of managing and executing multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining effectiveness under pressure, and adapting to changing priorities.
