One of the world’s leading commodity trading houses seeks a Business Change Analyst or Manager to join their Physical Oil/Nat Gas/LNG Trading business based in Manhattan, New York City (NYC) or Houston or London to work with their Front Office/Trading and Middle Office/Risk teams.

This role is looking for a very bright, dynamic energy/commodity trading (ideally with some Oil Trading) management consultant or someone coming from an energy trading competitor keen to learn and grow a career in commodity trading business change.

My client has established and is now growing a new internal global business change function to support and develop their Global Physical Oil/Natural Gas/LNG Trading business. They are a globally renowned business who only hire superstars eager to be challenged and make tangible differences resulting in very high bonuses to reward them. So you’ll be joining an already global leading oil trading business, who are keen to continue to innovate and continue to improve all aspects of the way they run the business and trade.

THE ROLE:

Based from their prestigious Manhattan New York City (NYC) or Houston or London office with some working from home and flexible working, you’ll join their global business change team, as well as sitting close to and working closely with the Middle Office/Risk or Front Office/Trading teams.

As a Physical Oil/Natural Gas/LNG Trading Business Change Manager, you will work closely with the Global Head of Business Change and grow to be the voice of the trading business in ensuring the successful design, rollout and implementation of project based activities for the Physical Oil Middle Office/Risk or Front Office/Trading businesses globally. Your role will grow/develop so you can drive the implementation of any products aimed at continually improving the Global Oil/Natural Gas/LNG Group, ensuring any changes to the business are delivered smoothly and with a positive impact across their NYC/Houston and other global offices.

Your role is thus to grow to lead and implement business change projects which have a low IT footprint, so this is not an IT led role, although you could come from an IT change background and be keen to move into a more pure business change role.

You will proactively probe for continuous improvement opportunities in systems and processes and work with the business and IT colleagues to make necessary changes. As this is a Global role, you will ensure Global representation for Physical Oil Middle Office/Risk or Front Office/Trading in project activity to drive increased standardization and associated efficiency improvements.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• This role is looking for a superstar who wants to fast-track their career, with a minimum of 2 years commercial Business Change / Change Management / Business Analysis experience, but could also be more experienced
• This role is looking for a superstar so you’ll need to display success throughout your CV including promotions and progression. This role is looking for a very proactive, driven and resilient person.
• This is NOT an IT role, it is looking for someone with business change experience, although good exposure to IT would be useful.
• You could be working in a Business Change role or as a Business Analyst etc working ideally for a tier one (Big 4, blue sky strategy etc) management consultancy working onsite at commodity trading houses. If coming from a management consultancy background this is would be ideal for a Consultant or Senior Consultant.
• It is ESSENTIAL that you have 2 years+ energy / commodity trading experience with any physical oil trading related experience being beneficial.
• US passport holder preferred (or UK if based from London), although my client will sponsor visas for outstanding applicants
• Strong academics including at least a strong Bachelors degree from a leading US or Global university.

Salary: Flexible as they are looking for a superstar but circa $100-150k basic + very high bonus + benefits
