Tool Maker A Jobs

GENERAL SUMMARY: Build weld fixture to production standards working with Manufacturing Engineering and tool designers. Will do layout work working with complicated blueprints and/or sketches.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

. Repair, change and produce efficient and dependable tools of all levels of complexity.

. Assist in the instruction and training of co-workers as instructed by supervisor.

. Work closely with supervision and Design personnel in the concept and development of tooling when required.

. Work closely with supervision and management in support of the department mission.

. Comply with all Company policies and practices as specified.

. Report labor and job data accurately.

. Maintain quality, safety and efficiency.

. Maintain clean and neat work area.

. Perform other jobs within the department or plant as required by supervision.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

High School diploma or equivalent preferred. Two year Technical college degree in Tool and Die, Machine Shop or equivalent preferred. CNC and Pro E computer skills are required. Proficiency demonstrated through Company test required.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is beneficial. Must have three to five years of experience in Tool and Die or closely related field.

SKILLS:

Must be able to physically perform essential functions of the job. Highly proficient in tool building and repair. High degree of mechanical ability. Must be highly self-motivated and be able to initiate and complete tasks with minimal supervision.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to physically perform essential functions of the job. Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 24 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs. Typically requires standing on a regular basis; reaching and handling frequently; and walking, sitting, stooping, crouching, climbing, balancing and kneeling occasionally. Specific vision requirements include depth perception, color vision and peripheral vision.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Frequently exposed to noise, odors, dust, chemicals, temperature extremes, hazardous substances, drafts, electricity and occasionally heights. Typically requires the use of cranes, hoists, grinders, milling centers, lathes, saws, etc. Hearing protection, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes with metatarsal protection, face shield or goggles, welding helmet and gloves are required.
