What you’ll be able to do:

  • Provide team communications and recognition
  • Determine and correct root cause of related downtime issues
  • Coordinate and schedule labor and materials to meet maintenance requirements to minimize down time
  • Build Team Leader and Team Member capabilities
  • Be responsible for monitoring day-to-day production processes, Draw panel formability, last hit process, contamination investigation
  • Create a conducive work environment for the team(s) to complete their assigned responsibilities/tasks
  • Lead skilled trades/die maintenance personnel to evaluate Die Readiness requirements for maintaining and improving production yields, output, and up time
  • Support Kaizen (Continuous Improvement) and coach problem resolution to the lowest level
  • Identify and ensure that safety hazards and unsafe practices are corrected and addressed
  • Coach Safety, Quality and Productivity to ensure objectives are met through following standardized work Optimize throughput in accordance with budgets and cost objectives
  • Assist and teach die maintenance troubleshooting techniques to improve mean time between failure and mean time to repair
  • Work any shift as well as rotating shifts and weekends
  • Ensure start-up readiness for production
  • Meet FTT, inventory, cost, scrap, supply and tooling expense targets
  • Coordinate Safety Operating System activities including overhead safety, lifting and rigging and Energy Control and Lockout procedures
  • Coordinate major and minor die repairs
  • Supervise preventative maintenance schedules, inspections and repairs to minimize down time
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with other plant operations
  • Utilize understanding and expertise in draw die forming, maintenance of beads, trim steels and pierce operations
  • Handle basic administration of supervisory responsibilities and corresponding documents

The minimum requirements we seek:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of Tool & Die experience

Our preferred requirements:
  • Capable of assigning work to unionized hourly workforce and holding employees accountable for following processes pertaining to daily work assignments in terms safety, quality, and throughput
  • 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook)
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Experience with draw dies and formability work
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and/or Tool & Die Journeymen’s Card
  • Successful candidate should be able to demonstrate leadership behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills
  • Automotive experience preferred
  • Strong problem-solving, conflict management and multitasking skills
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
