Job Description
US auto Credit has an immediate opening for a Title Clerk.


This position will perform various tasks associated with acquisition, recording, correction, transfer, and release of vehicle certificates of title. The primary objectives of this position are the timely receipt of accurate vehicle titles in non-routine or complex circumstances. This individual will be responsible for investigation of title-related situations where specialized knowledge is required to resolve a variety of potential title problems.


This individual may interact with external personal such as auctions, dealerships, third party title companies & motor vehicle departments. In addition, the individual may interact and work with management and other internal departments.


The successful candidate is self-directed in work prioritization and will demonstrate good judgment-making ability within the scope of the position's areas of responsibility. The associate will perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures and all state and federal regulations.


Essential Duties And Responsibilities


  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Work with state motor vehicle department investigators to report dealers on overdue titles.
  • Coordinate to assist in either secure or perfect our lien upon default or high risk situations.
  • Initiate appropriate actions to facilitate the acquisition of aged, overdue titles, including filings with state motor vehicle departments and referrals to Auto Credit's Legal Department.
  • Manage the title vault: Processing incoming titles while ensuring that the folders and titles are organized according to the company internal tracking system.
  • Process payoff titles or title-for-check exchanges and properly release them to dealers, auctions, or third parties.
  • Accurately track and document progress and actions taken during the course of problem resolution on individual accounts.
  • Process and record incoming titles, making sure the titles conform to Auto Credit policies and procedures with no brands, discrepancies, and all documents are securing Auto Credit's interest.
  • Promptly communicates potential risk situations to the appropriate personnel.


Experience


  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, is preferred
  • 1-2 years of title experience
