Introduction/Context:
AT&T has an opening for a Tier II Network Technician to support the customer’s computer data communications systems, in providing design specifications, testing and inspections for computer networks; plan and implementing upgrades; as well as, analyzing and organizing corresponding hardware and software combined solutions through network modeling.
Description of Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Perform configuration management functions such as update topology drawings, ensure asset management records are accurate, and conduct inventory.
  • Implement standard network change requests.
  • Respond to and resolve incident tickets.
  • Provide support to Tier III network engineers for incident management and projects (site surveys, coordinate and install new equipment).
  • Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs, or upgrades.
  • Support the installation and maintenance of the client’s Local Area Network(LAN)/Wide Area Network (WAN) devices.

Required Clearance: TS/SCI with polygraph. (#ts/sci) (#polygraph)

Required Qualification: The candidate must have 7 years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education. This equates to a doctorate and 0 years of experience OR a master’s and 2 years, a bachelor’s and 3 years, an associates and 5 years or HS and 7 years. Must comply with DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of basic routing fundamentals.
  • Layer 1 and Layer 2 network experience.
  • Working knowledge of Layer 3 protocols such as Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), and Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP).
  • Working knowledge of layer 2 switching concepts.
  • Working knowledge of ServiceNow or similar IT Service Management (ITSM) products.
  • Knowledge of Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model.
