You will be instrumental in shaping the next generation of teachers, imparting your extensive knowledge of communicative language teaching methodologies, particularly in task-based and problem-based learning. These workshops are designed to offer practical insights into ESL teaching strategies, enabling student teachers to excel in their craft.
Responsibilities
Lead hybrid intensive teacher-development workshops on Saturday mornings, blending remote synchronous sessions via Zoom and Canvas with in-person classes at our Alexandria campus.
Demonstrate and explain current ESL teaching methodologies, emphasizing task-based and problem-based learning, to inspire and engage aspiring educators.
Utilize engaging course materials, including program PowerPoints, required readings, and rubrics, to support the learning journey of student teachers.
Share valuable insights from your own teaching experiences, showcasing the real-world application of task-based and problem-based learning.
Evaluate student teaching demonstrations and in-class written assignments using program rubrics to provide constructive feedback.
Leverage modern technologies like Zoom and Canvas to enhance course interactions and facilitate seamless communication with students.
Required Qualifications
Excellent organizational skills and classroom management abilities.
Proficiency in adapting instruction to diverse groups of learners, including differentiating instruction.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, fostering a supportive learning environment.
