The Technical Support Specialist works as a team providing support to it's internal business users, including the following:
- Provide limited training to the end users for them to achieve minimal performance in computing.
- Provide on-site technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, software and other associated hardware connected to a user's device.
- Provide training, guidance, support, and direction to junior interns and contractors assigned to your area of responsibility
- Participate in meetings and projects as assigned
- Provide advanced technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, software, and other hardware connected to a user's device.
- Test and evaluate software and hardware products to determine applicability and value to agency operations.
- Actively analyze and evaluate emerging software and hardware technologies/standards.
- Develop appropriate functional and usability standards for the environments.
- Assist in planning and implementing shared software, such as operating systems, configuration management tools, application and development tools, testing tools, etc.
- Assist in planning and coordinating testing changes, upgrades, and new and standard products, ensuring systems operate correctly in current and future environments.
- Anticipate, identify, track, and resolve issues and risks affecting own work. Develop contingency plans as necessary.
- Analyze the functional and/or technical impact of new product releases.
- Meet with department heads, managers, supervisors, vendors, and others, to solicit cooperation and resolve problems.
- Determine time estimates and schedule for own work and subordinate contractors/interns to resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Identify and track issues, risks, and action items.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
