A Day in the Life
The Technical Services Specialist provides consultation to physicians, health care professionals, Medtronic field personnel, Legal Department, Marketing, Education, Research and Development (R&D), Quality Assurance (QA), and other in-house areas on 1) technical aspects of Cardiac Rhythm products and applications (implantable external, web based, and tablet based), 2) related device therapy concepts, medical and physiological problems, 3) device diagnostics, and 4) ECG and/or x-ray diagnostic interpretation.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Expand related device therapy and diagnostic concept knowledge and device systems through continuous self-study and educational programs and training workshops.
- Maintain communication networks across business units, and other related business operations, key legal and regulatory functions.
- Using Medtronic and industry publications research issues and remain current on new products and systems, new techniques, and new indications for devices.
- Responsible for receiving, documenting/reporting customer contacts and complaints for tracking, trending, and FDA reporting
- Provide accurate technical information to callers via phone and e-mail.
- Able to operate a computer and work in multiple operating systems (e.g. iPad & Android tablets, cardiac device programmers, Microsoft Office Applications, Scheduling & Phone software systems)
Additional Information
- The scheduled shift for this opening is Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM CST, and will require occasional evening and weekend coverage.
- This position is a remote role that will not report to a Medtronic facility. All candidates must have access to reliable, high-speed internet, and a quiet, confidential, and disruption-free work environment.

- Bachelors degree required
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree in lieu of experience
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of FDA/GMP/MDR device regulations
- Cardiac anatomy& electrical concept knowledge
- Cardiac device implant/follow-up experience or equivalent
- Call center or customer service experience
- Ability to effectively read and interpret ECG’s.
- Field sales or clinical specialist experience with cardiac devices
