Technical Operations Manager - Renewable energy / Semiconductor manufacturer - Cambridge, Massachussetts


I have partnered with an innovative and forward-thinking business that is solving the world challenge for a better energy future by revolutionizing the lithium-ion cell manufacturing process and platform.


This business provides a simpler and safer manufacturing process that accelerates production and lowers the costs of existing and future cell technology.


As the business expands we are looking for an Operation Manager to join the team in Cambridge, Massachusetts, that will be responsible for strategic and tactical operations of their pilot line operations.


Reporting to the Director, of Engineering Operations, the responsibilities of this position include:

  • Identification and deployment of continuous improvement initiatives
  • Successfully deliver high-quality products to internal and external customers
  • Lead and supervise a team responsible for operations pilot production line
  • Collaborate with process engineering to increase pilot line yield and uptime


Qualifications:

  • Experience with Li-ion battery testing is strongly preferred
  • People Management skills, ability to build and lead technical operations teams
  • Able to grasp technical concepts and communicate in a data-driven manner
  • Assume responsibility for safe pilot line operations in a fast-paced R&D and pilot production environment by championing a culture of safety daily with peers and direct reports
  • Experience with capital equipment improvement projects from scoping through internal acceptance testing
  • Manage inventory, working closely with production planner, technical operations specialist, and supply chain team
  • Presentation skills, able to present results and available data to drive solutions
  • Mentor and support Production Supervisors, Technicians, and other team members to complete work responsibilities


Required Experience

  • 5 years’ experience in technical operations management
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering – Chemical, Electrical, Material Science and Mechanical
