Our mission is to support and enable the makers who fuel the pursuit of musical expression. We are currently searching for an exceptional Technical Drafter II to join our team in Scottsdale, AZ/ Remote US.

An American icon, Fender was born in Southern California and has built a worldwide influence extending beyond the studio and the stage. A Fender is more than an instrument, it's a cultural symbol that resonates globally.

The Technical Drafter II will be responsible for creating mechanical drawings using CAD software in support of Jackson, Charvel, EVH, Gretsch, and Bigsby projects.

About the job:

Additionally, you will ensure that drawings and models meet R&D design and drafting standards.
Your responsibilities will include the creation of solid models and drawings that meet engineering requirements. You will participate in design reviews for other projects as well as your own. This is a team environment, and you will be required to work closely with the rest of the team including mechanical engineers, industrial designers, drafters, electrical engineers, project management, and manufacturing engineers.

What you need:

  • Experience designing sheet metal, wood and plastic components
  • Mechanical Drafting associates degree or better with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Solidworks sheet metal experience
  • Basic understanding of electronic circuitry and PCBA standards preferred.
  • Multi-body part and master model experience
  • Experience with Solidworks PDM
  • 3+ years of significant mechanical drafting experience
  • Solid understanding of basic woodworking
  • Strong Solidworks skills
  • Good technical and non-technical communication skills
  • Musical background is a plus, particularly guitar and related products
  • Problem solving skills sufficient to design, with some supervision
