Located at the heart of campus, The Center houses 5+ multi-purpose venues including Commons - a popular dining hall by day and event space by night. YSC is co-operated with Yale Dining and is host to a high volume of university events in addition to arts programming and occasional external rentals. (Please note that the Center does not have a scene shop.).
Yale Schwarzman Center is committed to driving positive social change through collaboration, wellness, and belonging while also building an anti-racist organization peopled by individuals who share and support this mission, and who reflect the diversity of the communities we serve.
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Technical Director (Audio/Video) will oversee all technical live-event support elements related to professional, faculty, and student-led events in 5+ multi-purpose venues in the Center, ensuring smooth and timely operations and safety throughout the process; foster an inclusive and respectful working environment around production activity at the Schwarzman Center; and carry out duties while exercising a high degree of autonomy and discretion. The Technical Director will join a newly formed team of production professionals supporting both arts and culture programs as well as student activities and major university events. The production team plays an essential role in a start-up culture that necessitates flexibility, enthusiasm for the mission, and a can-do attitude. Frequent night and weekend work will be required.
