Intermountain Healthcare is creating cutting-edge digital experiences that engage and delight our customers through the app/website “My Health+”. We are looking for a Consultant-level Technical Business Analyst that shares our consumer-focused passion to help us transform today’s fragmented digital healthcare journeys into tomorrow’s intuitive/seamless experiences. As part of the My Health+ team, the Technical Business Analyst – Consultant will lead efforts to implement new features and expand the foot print of My Health+ into new geographic regions.
The Technical Business Analyst – Consultant will be an integral part of an agile development team and facilitate agile methodologies within their assigned team. Additionally, in partnership with the Product Manager and engineers they will focus on delivering customer-centric solutions aligned to Intermountain’s business goals and timelines. The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker who is able to facilitate communications between internal and external stakeholders to understand and translate business requirements into technical terms. This includes business and technical requirements definition, data analysis and documentation of business and system workflows.
The Technical Business Analyst - Consultant is expected to collaborate with technical staff, management, and business operations staff throughout all phases of the software development life cycle in order to facilitate and drive the delivery of enterprise-scale digital solutions.
We will hire at Senior or Consultant level based on qualifications.

Job Essentials
1. Mentors and coaches others on all job essentials.
2. Documents and recommends workflow changes and technical/functional designs needed to support the business requirements.
3. Solves issues, incidents, and problems at all levels of complexity according to agreed upon service levels and according to IS Standards. Collaboratively works with peers, internal and external stakeholders, and vendors.
4. Configures, installs, implements, monitors and maintains systems at all levels of complexity (applications, workflows, processes, etc.). Helps to define documentation standards.
5. Acquires and maintains an advanced understanding of the technical and functional architecture of assigned systems and integration.
6. Understands the security and compliance requirements and complies with all policies and procedures of assigned systems.
7. Creates, manages and leads others in the development of project plans. Consistently meets agreed upon deadlines or escalates issues, concerns and barriers to key project leaders. Prioritizes tasks/assignments and assists in the allocation of resources.
8. Tests applications, systems and configurations for projects of all levels of complexity and according to IS standards.
9. Collaborates with key stakeholders in the training of peers, end-users, and other IS team members.
10. Develops and leads others in the development of training and knowledge based materials for use by peers, end-users and other IS team members.
11. Oversees, develops and implements communication plans to all stakeholder groups.
12. Consistently delivers an extraordinary customer experience when interacting with peers, end-users and others.
13. Maintains an advanced understanding of industry application/implementation methodologies, tools and techniques.
Minimum Qualifications (Consultant level - starting at $45.94/hr)
Bachelor's degree in an information technology, clinical, or healthcare (clinical or business) related field. Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution. Education is verified.

Four years of equivalent information systems, clinical or clinical information system experience.
- and -
Eight years experience providing analysis, design, configuration, implementation (technical and functional) and support of business/financial or clinical information systems.
- and -
Two years leadership experience (technical or management) in administrative, financial, or clinical information systems.
- and -
Demonstrated experience consistently delivering an extraordinary customer experience when interacting with peers, end-users, and others.

Minimum Qualifications (Senior level - starting at $37.29/hr)

Six years previous experience providing analysis, design, configuration, implementation (technical and functional) and support of business/financial or clinical information systems.

Bachelor's degree in an information technology, clinical, or healthcare (clinical or business) related field. Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution. Education is verified.

Four years of equivalent information systems, clinical or clinical information system experience.

Demonstrated experience consistently delivering an extraordinary customer experience when interacting with peers, end-users and others.

  • Proven analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Experience with clinical workflows such as Scheduling, Billing, Registration and Order Management.
  • Experience with simple to moderately complex data queries, SQL and analysis
  • Knowledge of modern software architectures, restful services, mobile and web application design, data structures, HL7/FHIR
  • Experience as a Scrum Master, leading agile teams and familiarity with tools such as Jira and Confluence
  • EMR (Cerner or Epic) knowledge is a plus.
