Job Description
Cognizant, a Fortune 200 corporation, is seeking a strong Team Leader to lead claims business oversee all aspects of the Provider Maintenance including SME’s. In this role, the successful candidate will monitor performance and work with other members of the management team to achieve business goals and motivate the team through open communication, transparency.
Job Purpose
  • Evaluate business processes and perform high level analysis to leverage opportunities for operational improvements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and required by Claims Leadership
  • Receive research and respond to Operation Quality Audits, including providing individual and departmental feedback to claims operation staff and/or shared service staff; handle resolution of system or procedural issues identified by quality reviews and assume leadership role for developmental and implementation of quality initiatives.
  • Drive performance metric claim quality and implement corrective action plans identified for areas of direct and non-direct controls.
  • Develop, evaluate, and manage Claim processing and Shared Service personnel to ensure high quality and maximize the customer experience.
  • Assess individual and team performance on a regular basis and provide developmental feedback.
Requirements
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a high performing team to achieve desired results.
  • Ability to take the lead on projects and assure that all requirements are met.
  • Innovative: ability to identify and develop improved processes and procedures.
  • Detailed oriented, organized with strong analytical skills, problem solving and negotiating skills.
Education And/or Experience
  • Proven skills in staff development and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred (Experience may be used in lieu of educational requirement)
  • Strong knowledge of claims processing, procedures and systems, contracts, State, Federal and Medicare Regulations and Coordination of Benefits applications
  • 3+ years of managerial/supervisory experience within a related health care and/or claims environment.
Technical Requirements
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel experience
  • Experience using FACETS.
