Tax Planning & Compliance Services are the core of this platform and a key component of the overall growth strategy for CI Private Wealth.

CI Private Wealth is currently seeking an experienced, action oriented Tax Manager to join the CIPW Tax Practice, which provides Tax Planning and Compliance Services to sophisticated high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families, trusts, estates and private foundations.


Essential Duties

Tax Services

  • Develop and implement tax planning strategies in alignment with client goals and objectives, including coordinating with advisors to integrate tax considerations into financial plans and investment strategies
  • Review and analyze estate planning related legal documents
  • Provide high quality individual, trust, estate, gift, foundation, and business tax compliance services as well as estate planning advisory services
  • Review individual, trust, estate, gift, business entity, and foundation returns
  • Research Federal, State and International tax laws, prepare tax memorandums on technical topics, and develop tax savings strategies
  • Be proactive and stay current on new tax legislation and tax reform
  • Handle Federal and State tax notices and audits

Business Development

  • Manage all aspects of client accounts with respect to tax, fostering client relationships, overseeing processes, and answering questions
  • Conduct internal business development and marketing, including networking, public speaking and authoring income tax planning and Trust and Estate related articles
  • Provide internal training and guidance on tax-related topics
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, resource, and point of contact for clients’ broader advisory team, including wealth advisors, financial planners, and other stakeholders
  • Manage other members of the group including monitoring their workload and training and assisting them


Qualifications


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Preferred experience with CCH Axcess Tax & Bloomberg Income Tax Planner (Formerly BNA)
  • Experience with reviewing individual, fiduciary, gift and estate tax returns
  • Experience with multi-national tax issues relating to HNW and UHNW individuals and families
  • 6+ year’s progressive experience in public accounting required
  • Extensive experience in Tax Advisory and Estate/Trust planning and compliance for sophisticated high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong client relationships
  • Active CPA licensed required
  • Must be able and willing to work additional hours as needed to meet client deliverables
  • Experience with research software and memo writing required
  • BA/BS degree in Accounting from an accredited college/university required; Master’s in Taxation or Accountancy preferred


The pay range for this position is $135,000 – $160,000 base salary per year. We are required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.
