What you will be doing

Now is an exciting time to join our Indirect Tax team. We are focused on optimizing our sales and use tax process and are looking to add a team member who is passionate about tax and who will assist with multi-state sales and use tax compliance, general ledger account reconciliations, and product taxability analysis. In addition, you will have opportunities to be involved in sales and use tax audits and special projects.

The position can be based in Phoenix, AZ, or one of our main regional offices (Boise, ID, Chicago, IL, Dallas, TX, Portland, OR).

Main responsibilities

• Sales and use tax compliance, including data gathering and analysis and return preparation
• Product taxability reviews
• Tax research and interpretation of tax laws
• Sales and use tax GL account reconciliations

• Detail oriented with high degree of accuracy
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to perform tax technical research
• Self-motivated and ability to work independently with minimum supervision under rigid time constraints yet contribute as an overall team member when necessary.
• Honest/trustworthy, exhibiting sound business
• Good analytical and organizational skills.

We believe the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience:

• 2 or more years’ experience working with multi-state sales and use tax
• Advanced level PC skills with knowledge of Windows & Microsoft software applications. Oracle (or similar ERP system) and Vertex experience a plus.
• Four-year college degree in accounting, similar or equivalent experience
