Designs, develops, codes, tests, debugs, implements, and maintains moderately complex application software and/or systems. Prepares detailed specifications and recommendations for software, programs, and test procedures.

Essential Functions The System Analyst documents all development and/or maintenance efforts as well as analyzing and documenting user requirements. This position also participates in team efforts, assisting in the process of integrating assigned work with other application/system components, and performs other integrations as directed. The Systems Analyst designs system solutions and performs functional testing.
Physical Effort The physical effort involved with working as a Systems Analyst is typically low to moderate. Most of the work is performed at a computer or workstation and involves sitting for long periods. The Systems Analyst may need to adjust their workstation and computer setup to ensure proper ergonomics and avoid repetitive strain injuries, such as carpal tunnel syndrome. The Systems Analyst may also need to attend meetings, collaborate with team members, and communicate with stakeholders, which can involve sitting or standing for extended periods. They may need to move around the office or facility to attend meetings, collaborate with colleagues, or access resources such as printers or other equipment.
