The Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD) Persistent Awareness Systems Development Branch has requirements for combined support in ongoing Department of Defense (DoD) Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) efforts for various Expeditionary Warfare and Persistent Awareness (PA) systems, and related equipment associated with these systems. Services supported under this task include cybersecurity procedures and control evaluations, cybersecurity and network assessments, preparation of supporting Risk Management Framework (RMF) documentation for each domain, implementation of security postures, and Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in cybersecurity life cycle management, coordination, implementation, deployment, and sustainment for Expeditionary Warfare systems and support facilities, encompasses all phases of the Integrated Defense Acquisition Management Framework – Concept Refinement, Development, Deployment, Operations and Life Cycle Support Phases – as well as acquisition and installation of systems and support for various exercises and demonstrations. These efforts will provide support to the Adaptive Persistent Awareness System (APAS) and other PA and expeditionary related programs and projects.


Reporting to the Program Manager, the System Administrator performs typical systems administration duties in an environment that includes physical and virtual machines with a variety of operating systems to include Windows and Linux on the Adaptive Persistent Awareness System (APAS) Cybersecurity Support Services contract. The ideal candidate has experience maintaining the functionality and efficiency of systems while protecting data integrity and supporting the security posture of those systems. This position is located in Panama City Beach, FL.


  • Proactively review system alerts to resolve trending issues before they become critical.
  • Support end-users with issues related to servers and applications.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Administer servers, desktop computers, laptops within a Microsoft Active Directory domain.
  • Analyze equipment to determine the root cause of performance related problems.
  • Install and maintain Ubuntu Linux servers.
  • Maintain documentation of systems and application design.
  • Responsible for Windows Server patching.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting server hardware, software, or virtualization issues.
  • Maintain a VMware environment.
  • Configure hardware and software for new systems, upgrades, or replacements.
  • Bid and proposal support if requested.


Required Qualifications
  • Ubuntu Linux
  • Microsoft Active Directory
  • Experience with the following tools and systems
  • Must possess a DoD 8570 IAT Level II compliant certification
  • Storage Area Network (SAN) (iSCSI) storage
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
  • Windows Server 2019
  • Vmware ESXi
  • HS Diploma required.
  • At least one (1) year of experience providing troubleshooting, configuration, end-user support, and other systems administration support.
  • CompTIA Security + certification (or higher-level equivalent). Certification may be obtained within 90 days of start date.
  • Windows 10
  • Windows Server DNS Server
  • An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.
