Job Description
Overview:
The Wisconsin Foundation and Alumni Association (WFAA)*, the private fundraising and alumni relations organization for UW-Madison, is recruiting for a System Administrator. The System Administrator contributes to the success of the Technical Services team by performing configuration, support, maintenance, and enhancement of the endpoint management system, corporate ticketing system, and various productivity tools offered to the business. In addition, this role is responsible for end user provisioning and access management functions for WFAA. This position works in between End User Computing and Infrastructure teams serving as a liaison between the two functional areas and should have a strong background in hands-on support in a Windows, Mac, and iOS environment.

Essential Functions:
Application Administration and Support
  • Endpoint Management Administration
    • Perform regular administrative functions in WFAA’s Workspace ONE endpoint management system
    • Build, test, deploy, and manage software packages and software updates.
    • Monitor the status of security updates to ensure meeting compliance requirements.
    • Work with End User Computing team to establish standards and endpoint policies.
    • Develop reports and dashboards.
    • Working with Infrastructure and End User Computing teams design and configure of Workspace ONE to provide efficiencies to the team.
  • Help standardize and optimize configurations, but also lead initiatives of integrations with other applications within the company.

    • Maintain and/or build workflows for various business units.
    • Work with business units on building and defining service level agreements.
    • Develop reports and dashboards for various use cases to display metrics and data.
    • Help standardize and optimize configurations, but also lead initiatives of integrations with other applications within the company.
    • Monitor performance of automation, triggers, and workflows within the WFAA Zendesk instance.
    • Monitor and use performance data to identify pain points and efficiency opportunities.
  • Work with business units on building and defining service level agreements.

  • Assist with the administration of WFAA instances of Microsoft 365, Box, Microsoft Teams, and other various SaaS productivity tools.
  • Perform regular administrative functions in WFAA’s Workspace ONE endpoint management system
  • Monitor performance of automation, triggers, and workflows within the WFAA Zendesk instance.
  • Develop reports and dashboards.

Identity and Access Management
  • User access administration, including adding, removing, and updating accounts for a variety of WFAA applications and platforms.
  • Work with members of the Infrastructure and business teams to define, design, and implement processes for user and system account provisioning with a goal of improving the user experience and leveraging automation where possible.
Customer Support
  • Troubleshoot varying levels of application incidents and requests.
  • Collaborate with other teams and vendors in troubleshooting application-related issues.
  • Responds to customer requests and problems independently, promptly, and professionally.
  • Required to work off hours for planned and unplanned events related to infrastructure support.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours support.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ years’ experience with hands-on support in a desktop support environment.
  • Associates Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or relative experience that provide equivalent knowledge, skills, or abilities.
  • 2+ years’ experience administrating ticketing systems, Zendesk a plus.
  • 2+ years’ experience administrating Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and other various SaaS applications.
  • 2+ years’ experience administrating an endpoint management system, Workspace ONE a plus.
Other Qualifications:
  • Box or other cloud storage solutions.
  • Works effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong initiative: takes accountability for work assignments and can work both independently using individual judgement and with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills; can adjust to rapidly changing priorities.
  • Excellent customer service skills, minimum of 2+ years’ in a customer service environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
  • Efficient working in an environment that requires the balance of working on support and project initiatives at the same time.
  • Ability to learn new tools and technologies and take on new responsibilities as assigned.
  • Powershell, Shell, or other scripting.
  • Demonstrates passion for learning and taking on opportunities for growth.
  • Zendesk administration.
  • Azure AD
  • Works well with a diverse team and customers.
