Surgery Department - Nurse Research /Nurse Research

The department of surgery is seeking a highly motivated and productive Nurse Research.

• 5% - Maintain department log of all ongoing and proposed research investigations.
• 5% - Member and Coordinator of the Department of Surgery Research Committee
• 20% - Preparation of initial IRB application
• Liaison between faculty researchers and OSP and HCRS for new and ongoing grant submissions
• 5% - Maintain security of patients’ consents and PHI related to ongoing and completed research involving human subjects
• 5%- Maintain records for Surgery department research funding as part of Research Committee efforts.
• 40% - Assist faculty with preparation of research material packet
• 10% - Assist faculty with ongoing IRB queries and renewals
• 10% - Maintain and update log of faculty departmental manuscripts in preparation and publications. Create quarterly research reports to the chair and faculty at monthly meetings.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four year college degree program in Nursing; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in a specific nursing/medical area related to the nature of research; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The position also requires possession of a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan. May require a Bachelor's degree in nursing and/or work experience in a particular area of nursing or health care.
