POSITION SUMMARY


Under limited supervision, the Supply Chain Planner is responsible for spare part product lifecycle and spare part demand planning, forecasting and its successful execution. Employees in this job class forecast updates, ensure spare part data system integrity, review and act on daily client customer backorder report, approve daily regional inventory rebalance requests, part hold sales order release requests, requests for excess inventory from HP trade teams, review, analyze and respond to client quarterly excess and obsolete scrap reports. This job class requires the ability to report out both in written and verbal format to the customer and to actively lead root cause analysis when required.


TYPICAL DUTIES

  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
  • *Actively participates and presents in departmental and client meetings, ongoing and as requested.
  • *Engages, actively collaborates and meets frequently with client Regional Material and Product Lifecycle Mangers to ensure alignment at both regional and Pride operational performance level. Identifies and alerts client regional material managers of any product line, supplier or part performance concerns, so that they can be escalated to WW team. Collaborates with Pride buyer to ensure all parts which require supplier escalation are escalated via weekly escalation calls with client Global Commodity Managers, to improve delivery schedule and close gaps in supply.
  • *Leads planning projects and training. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
  • *Collaborates daily with client Regional Materials Managers and Regional Product Lifecycle Mangers to ensure all planning supporting lifecycle event activities are complete and support overall New Product Introduction, part roll and end of supply life readiness milestone target dates.
  • *Creates and provides management with product line planning performance update summary reports, ongoing and as requested. Which include, but are limited to, planning team performance (Forecast accuracy, product line customer level of fill, aged backorders, inventory projections and cost reduction result updates), all both aggregated and broken down by planner and product line.
  • *Creates daily work orders and work order requests for spare part kitting and re-labeling in support of clients regional service support spare part install base and kitting program. Manages kit bill of materials to ensure accuracy of kit contents. Initiates daily spare part orders in LN which are uploaded and sent to client for approval, then processing by Pride buyer in Pride’s LN system and clients SAP system. Responsible for maintaining part planning and forecasting system parameters. Updates systems to reflect engineer change order activity.
  • *Actively communicates and corresponds with internal customers regarding part status, provides e-mail/voicemail updates and resolves all spare part/product line related issues with accurate updates. For external customers planner also provides part sales order line level updates via clients “Easi-Tool” order management/client customer communication interface tool.
  • *Creates and distributes product line specific performance data reports to client Regional Material and Product Line Managers. Maintains Product line balanced scorecards and provides performance narratives which include corrective action plans, when Product line performance is below goal.
  • *Collaborates with client Material Managers to ensure proactive spare part pipeline health and close gaps in supply, by utilizing both client and Pride part pipeline level of health reporting tools. Then works with Pride buyer to resolve backorders via supplier PO expedite, approve change in shipment mode or provide supporting planning data for escalation of spare part purchase orders. Also manages part holds put in place to protect limited inventory for client warranty contractual obligations.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


  • Ability to establish priorities and solve a wide range of business problems;
  • Fundamental computer literacy and skills to use business software, and the Internet for data entry and to produce memos, emails and spreadsheets; Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems; Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to make presentations and respond to inquiries by management, team, vendors and/or customers;
  • Familiarity with planning, scheduling, and purchasing procedures;
  • Human relation skills to build effective relationships with team and internal customers;
  • Flexibility to respond to changing work priorities and handle numerous projects at the same time.
  • Demonstrated customer service, common sense, problem solving and analytical skills;
  • Mathematical skills to include the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations;
  • Intermediate to advanced computer literacy including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software;
  • Familiarity with Lifecycle planning events (NPI, part roll, discontinuance and end of support life)
  • Knowledge of business English including vocabulary, spelling, and correct grammatical usage and punctuation;
  • Experience working in a Service Support Supply Chain environment
  • Three years of experience in production planning or purchasing;
  • Experience participating and leading Project’s aimed at providing balanced results (Ex Cost reduction, without compromising customer TCE or service level)
