PURPOSE OF ROLE
The M&D Supply Chain Manager for ECM will lead a team of experienced, focused buyers responsible for driving order fulfillment with our electronic contract manufacturers. The role drives the development and execution of the S&OP process, specifically focused on our M&D electronic drive products. This position will unleash significant synergies in our management of the electronics supply base across M&D’s business units, and will enable more effective, efficient communication across all stakeholders.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales and Operations Planning
o Drive project to establish & maintain a robust technology solution which compiles BOM/AVL data for all M&D drive products (working with engineering and/or pulling from systems)
o Develop and execute S&OP process for all M&D drive products to include new product development (NPD), production, and phase-in / phase-out
o Manage component forecasting to ensure component manufacturers are aware of our future requirements and plan capacity accordingly
Demand Planning
o Proactively report to our plant stakeholders the ECM shipping plans against our demand, risks to the plant’s production needs, and actions to mitigate
o Take full ownership of ECM processes and targets
o Drive the development of strong forecasting systems to ensure appropriate levels of accuracy
o Ensure there is excellent problem-solving techniques and capabilities in place to avoid wastage and repeated errors
o Work closely with contract manufacturers daily to ensure follow through on commitments and resolution to problems
o Create strategies to manage component shortages including escalations to component manufacturers, distributors, or on the grey market
o Leverage MRP systems to drive data analytics through ensuring data accuracy Consolidate the MRP systems information to accurately report and consolidate communications to the suppliers shared between our various facility locations
o Evaluate and maintain needed safety stock levels
o Align to plant inventory management goals
o Work with sourcing team members and supplier quality as needed to address chronic delivery or quality issues
Stakeholder Communication and Alignment
o Drive extensive cross-functional collaboration with sourcing, operations, sales, and engineering, as well as external suppliers.
o This team will also be part of assigned project teams, which requires collaboration with decision makers and other key stakeholders on key projects and activities with daily/weekly communication cadence
o Ensure that all stakeholders have the actionable information when making decisions
o Demonstrate ownership of ECM relationships across the business unit
o Work closely with cross-functional leaders and teams to ensure necessary inputs for successful supply chain management are clearly defined and met
o Proactively communicate with our suppliers and with M&D’s internal stakeholders (Operations, Sourcing, Engineering, Sales, Quality, etc.)
o Ensure ongoing training of all stakeholders in processes and process changes
People Management
o Create and drive a culture of high performance using effective performance management systems and processes
o Ensure the team is managed and developed through stretch goals
o Implement continuous professional development for all team members
o Efficiently manage non-delivery through quick corrective actions with each team member
5. Continuous Improvement
o Drive process optimization efforts on an ongoing basis to remove process inefficiencies
o Implement best practices based on benchmarking with similar sized organizations
o Use good change management techniques to ensure end users take up of new processes and/or systems
TECHNICAL ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE
PREFERRED
o Fluency in Spanish
o Proficiency in Chinese a plus
o Expertise with MRP and ERP – Oracle and 4th Shift experience
o Very strong Excel capabilities, and other data management tools
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- 5 years relevant leadership experience leading both cross-functional project teams and teams of direct reports
- APICS certification or other relevant qualification preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
- 10 years of relevant experience in Supply Chain (Demand Planning, Supply Planning, and Inventory Planning) preferably in an environment of both manufactured and sourced finished goods
