Supplier Quality Manager


Indianapolis, IN (hybrid working)


As a Supplier Quality Manager, you will provide quality leadership and expertise working with suppliers to define and deploy strategies that drive quality improvement at pace. This role is critical in providing quality assurance in the Installations area. As the Supplier Quality Manager, you will manage and conduct supplier maturity assessments, continuous improvement plans, audits / compliance, and oversee the containment of supplier quality escapes. In this role you will travel up to 40% domestically and up to 5% internationally.

Key Accountabilities


  • Coach and lead suppliers to deliver effective Zero Defects and Quality Improvement Plans ensuring the Supplier has all the relevant prevention skills required
  • Conduct classified parts audits and process walks to review effectiveness of Supplier’s quality systems
  • Contribute to sourcing decisions by performing pre-selection assessments (ESSCA)
  • Promote a culture of robust problem solving and continuous improvement at pace, refusing to compromise on issues of quality, professional and behavioral standards
  • Coach suppliers in complying with relevant requirements including SABRe and external standards
  • Ensure suppliers self-lead improvement and engage appropriate internal and external resources


Basic Requirements


  • Associate degree and 7+ years of experience in quality, engineering, supply chain, or core manufacturing, OR
  • Master's degree and 3+ years of experience in quality, engineering, supply chain or core manufacturing, OR
  • 9+ years of years of experience in quality, engineering, supply chain or core manufacturing
  • In order to be eligible for consideration, you must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in quality, engineering, supply chain or core manufacturing, OR


Preferred Requirements


  • Coach and influence suppliers at all levels to drive zero defects at pace by using expert knowledge on the tools and techniques
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of the context of external compliance and regulatory factors
  • Assessing and auditing compliance of suppliers to Aerospace standards and Rolls-Royce specifications
  • Demonstrated levels of leadership and influence both internally and at suppliers
  • Good business acumen and broad knowledge of other disciplines across Rolls-Royce Civil Aerospace
