Job Description
Goshen College seeks to fill the position of Student Life Services Coordinator. This position oversees scheduling for counseling and health services and manages health and counseling records. The coordinator manages incoming health forms and works to transfer data to Goshen Family Physicians. The coordinator also manages Vector solution assignment and tracking for all students. Additionally, the coordinator serves as an administrative assistant to the dean and assistant dean of students. The coordinator also coordinates the on-campus student Food Pantry. The student services coordinator is a liaison to students facing financial barriers through the Food Pantry and management of the Benevolent Fund.
The pay rate for this position is $13.50-14.50/hour, depending on experience. This is a 0.75 FTE position, 30 hours per week and offers full benefits.

  • Success at managing a wide array of tasks and projects and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
  • High school diploma required. Bachelor’s degree in social science, social work, psychology, or related human services fields is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends
  • Experience and success working in partnership with local residents and community organizations
  • Effective communication, both in-person and in writing
  • Understands and respects a diversity of economic, linguistic and cultural backgrounds and situations
  • Highly proficient in Excel
  • 1-3 years of administrative experience required
  • Expected to work one to two weekends per month throughout the academic calendar and some weekends in the summer to accommodate the needs of the job
Preferred Qualifications
  • Highly motivated and self-directed
  • Knowledge of database management (Jenzabar)
  • Ability to work with both campus and external communities
  • Strong knowledge of computers and fundamental technology (i.e., iPad, e-learning software, etc.)
  • Culturally competent
  • Self-motivated leader who can work independently as well as part of team
  • Fluency in Spanish is preferred
  • Knowledge of budgeting and financial statements
Essential Functions
Health Services & Campus Counseling Responsibilities – 50%
  • Manages [email protected] email account
  • Manages Confidential Health Form and vaccination records and creates Goshen Family physician patient account for each student
  • Coordinates scheduling for 3 campus counselors and counseling interns. Utilizes Google calendar for student and counselor to schedule appropriate meeting time, sends initial appointment request.
  • Schedules doctor’s appointments for students as needed
  • Provides transportation to students who are in need of transportation to their medical doctor as needed and assessed by the Director of Health & Wellness
  • Coordinates annual flu clinic with Goshen Family Physicians
  • Provides empathetic listening to students who are in distress waiting to urgently see a counselor
  • Maintains counseling files & student health files in accordance with HIPAA laws
  • Provides general administrative assistance to counseling team staff
Student Life Administrative Assistant Responsibilities – 45%
  • Manages Vector Solutions course distribution to students, ongoing follow-up and placing holds on accounts
  • Provides administrative support for the Dean of Students & Assistant Dean of Students, including reconciling monthly expense reports, making travel arrangements, screening and handling telephone communications, paying invoices.
  • Greets and provides requested information to students, faculty, staff and public.
  • Pick-up and drop-off mail, daily
  • Coordinates student Food Pantry and staffs front desk 4 hrs/week
  • Manages Student Life Office supplies, coordinates with external and internal vendors for repairs
  • Manages room calendars for Student Life Conference Room, Leadership Hub, and Intercultural Student space
  • Processes invoices received by various departments when Student Life is billed.
  • Coordinates vendors and food for all Student Life team functions (retreats, team meetings, special events)
Other Responsibilities – 5%
  • Manages Benevolent Fund; meet with students to assess needs, makes determination in conjunction with Assistant Dean of Students, provides administrative follow-up and payment.
