JOB TITLE


Student Experience Coordinator


Summary


The Student Experience Coordinator works with the Director of Student Experience to strategically implement programming that supports student outcomes, student experience, and academic rigor. The Student Experience Coordinator manages a diverse group of student employees and volunteers.



RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Maintain a calendar of events and meetings.
  • Assist with coordinating student travel and general oversight of student travel.
  • Work in collaboration with campus partners to plan and coordinate intervention programs for at-risk students.
  • Position may perform all or some of the responsibilities above, and all positions perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Plan and conduct programming that provides students with a holistic experience. (orientation, international student involvement, student activities, and involvement, registered student organizations, new students and families)
  • Develop and maintain effective communication and working relationships with administrators, staff, faculty, students, and community members.
  • Coordinates the delivery of programming relating to all areas of student life, ensuring students have a smooth transition into the College.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:


  • Strong commitment to excellence in education and service
  • Preferred knowledge of issues, trends, policies, and best practices that are relevant to student affairs.
  • Ability to coordinate major projects
  • Proven ability to organize and host events
  • Preferred knowledge of the greater Lakeland area
  • Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of college students, including those with physical or learning disabilities as it relates to differences in learning styles.
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities, to set and meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
  • Skills in effective and persuasive interpersonal communication skills to gather information, resolve problems, and assess situations


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Education: bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Higher Education, or a related field.
  • Experience: One to three years of full or part-time experience in student activities or student affairs.


REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR OTHER SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS OF LAW:


  • 435.04.
  • This position requires a criminal background check, which may include a Level II screening as required by Florida Statute
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • This position is subject to federal and state privacy regulations.


NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: This position is temporary/OPS. The regular work schedule may be Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.; however, occasional overtime (weekends and evenings) may be required.


TARGET HIRING SALARY: $20.00 hourly
