The Strategy Manager plays a crucial role in driving Starbucks' success by overseeing and guiding strategic initiatives. They provide leadership and support in conducting annual and ongoing analyses, as well as facilitating important processes. In the realm of Store Operations: Uplifting Store Excellence, our aim is to streamline and enhance the Starbucks experience for both customers and our store partners. This involves implementing a rigorous approach, leveraging analytics, and creating cohesive solutions.


As a Strategy Manager, you will develop problem-solving strategies for complex cross-functional issues, investments, and opportunities. You will lead multiple cross-functional teams to perform thorough analyses and develop effective strategies. Additionally, you will communicate findings and ensure program progress across all levels of management. Taking a proactive approach, you will contribute to the overall success of the program(s) by envisioning beyond immediate steps and embracing a curious mindset. Furthermore, as a Strategy Manager, you will play a role in developing and supporting others, while exemplifying Starbucks' Mission and Values through your actions and behaviors.


As a strategy manager, you will…

  • Create structured presentations illustrating key business issues, new insights, and recommendations. Communicates team recommendations to the executive leadership team and field questions and concerns. Communicates learnings and insights across cross-functional teams, strategy team leadership and executive sponsors. Develops strong working relationships with sponsoring executives related to project work.
  • Review and provide guidance to cross-functional sub-teams in developing robust and detailed work plans. Manages overall project work plans, defining approach, timing, and key deliverables to ensure project deliverables and timelines are met.
  • Lead strategic project problem-solving efforts by helping the team identify and define key issues, develop hypotheses and design required analyses. Provides problem-solving leadership across entire project teams. Guides the team in thinking through complex and ambiguous issues and identifying creative approaches to develop new insights. Oversees and reviews team analytics to ensure integrity and accuracy.

Leadership - Setting goals for the work group, developing organizational capability, and modeling how we work together:

  • Identifies and communicates key responsibilities and practices to ensure the immediate team of direct reports promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results.
  • Supports the implementation of company programs to ensure the success of the Company.

Planning and Execution - Developing strategic and operational plans for the work group, managing execution, and measuring results:

  • Plans and manages business unit and department processes and practices to ensure that programs are aligned with company business goals and objectives.
