Strategic Sourcing Manager (Supply Chain) - Remote


As the Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will be responsible for the development of strategic sourcing plans including make vs buy inputs, supplier identification, and selection, negotiating and closing high-value long-term agreements, supplier relationship management, supplier partnership, and development as well as general contractual supplier support for all AG sites and sectors. The ability to effectively manage relationships and influence internal and external stakeholders throughout the process is critical.


The scope includes new programs, existing programs, and aftermarket programs throughout the entire lifecycle of proposal development, new product introduction, rate increase, and mass production in order to meet quality, total cost, delivery, and inventory goals.


Responsibilities:

  • Develops channels of supply to achieve reduced lead time and Moog inventory holding, increased quality and delivery, and therefore lowest total cost (not just the lowest purchase price)
  • Leads the development of strategic sourcing plans simultaneously for multiple commodity groups
  • Supports and makes recommendations to facilitate AG Make vs Buy strategy decisions
  • Contract & pricing negotiation and maintenance including claim management
  • Evaluates the global market environment
  • Leadership of a cross-functional team and able to influence decision-making at all levels of the business
  • Demonstrate knowledge of a variety of mandatory requirements, including Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFAR), REACH, AEO, Technical Assistance Agreements, Manufacturing License Agreements, and Import/Export regulation requirements, including but not limited to UK military regulations, EAR and ITAR
  • Leads the development and management of commodity strategic plans to achieve AG business requirements
  • Supplier Relationship Management, supported by Regional SC Management
  • Identifies, selects & develops strategic supplier partnerships to generate new supplier capability or competency to generate competitive advantage. Includes determining required investment in training & development, including requirements for long-term/permanent residence on site at supplier
  • This position is considered a hybrid role as this individual will be required to be on-site as business need dictates

Qualifications:

  • Good negotiating skills, combined with knowledge of procurement and contractual law is preferred
  • This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information
  • Requires excellent working knowledge and understanding of contractual requirements, business systems, and processes
  • Good understanding of supply chain networks and linkage and flow
  • Good communication/organizational skills, and ability to understand complex regulations/procedures
  • Requires strong analytical and creative problem-solving abilities to understand and facilitate complex supply chain decision-making over the strategic time window
  • Bachelor's degree level education, preferred in the fields of Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business
  • Progressive experience in the field of supply chain, manufacturing, or engineering (preferably Aerospace)
  • Knowledge and experience in generating price analyses for military contracts per FAR/DFAR

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Business or Engineering.
  • Certification in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Program Management

California Residents: Pay range for this opportunity is $125,000 - $155,000, annually
