General Description of the Role

The position of Storeroom Supervisor will keep an adequate stock level of parts in the parts room to help prevent production line shutdowns. Purchase parts and materials for planned projects and emergency breakdown. Quantity of each part should be based on production floor needs & ease of access to order replacements. Will need to work closely with others in the company to provide the best customer service.

Mission/Objectives

The Storeroom Supervisor will work with maintenance and production departments to support their needs of parts and materials as well as supervise the Storeroom Clerk.

Key Responsibilities and Activities

• Execute departmental and personal projects and initiatives to improve safety, reduce costs, minimize waste, and improve performance
• Inventory performance tracking and consumption analysis
• Order parts and materials.
• Responsible for the development, implementation and periodic review of Storeroom policies and procedures.
• Provide financial records and information to the Maintenance Manager.
• Coordinate part rebuilds with maintenance supervisors and vendors.
• Supervise Storeroom Clerk
• Maintain an adequate number of spare parts in inventory to prevent production line stoppages while keeping inventory levels low and leveraging vendor storerooms where possible.
• Must be able to record, add, manipulate SAP and Megamation. Must be effective in PO and AP systems (Coupa and SSC).
• Locating, sourcing, expediting critical repair parts and recommending satisfactory substitutes for unavailable materials and services.
• Supervise vendor managed inventory areas and performance.
• Follow department operational policies and procedures.
• Add critical parts to storeroom.
• Perform all other duties assigned and those that may be necessary to achieve company and departmental goals.
• Manage some routine service contracts.
• Lead storeroom parts inventory activity to include full inventories as well as high value/high turns inventories.
• Timely and accurate purchases and receipt of materials and supplies are performed through the SAP system.
• Create other purchase orders as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field strongly preferred

Experience

• Previous supervision skills preferred
• 3-5 years of manufacturing experience
• Previous experience with SAP/MRP preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge
• Be able to read basic blueprints and technical manuals
• Must be flexible and available to various shifts
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Detail-oriented with strong 5S and organizational skills
• Be able to use measuring instruments such as tapes, rulers and calipers in inch and metric
• Safety first mindset
• Strong computer skills
